Title: [LU] Community inquiry for a Squirrel Developer
Post by: Teddy on September 27, 2013, 03:24:25 am
Hello Community members,

We are currently seeking an experienced Squirrel developer to become a member of the Argonath Liberty Unleashed Team.

As a developer, you will have the following responsibilities:

As a developer, you will be required to have the following skill-sets and abilities:

Please make note of the following:

You do not necessarily need to know Liberty Unleashed specific, knowledge of the squirrel programming language is sufficient. We are simply looking now for community interest.  Please reply here, or to my PM with any experiences, why your interested, and how you feel you can make a contribution to the Argonath Liberty Unleashed team, and server.

In a short period of time we will review who we have interested and we may conduct an interview with you, to follow up. Also note, you will be required to pass an entry "test" which will consist of you developing a script proving your skills in the designated areas. This will be a short process, and for some will take no more than a few hours.

Thank you for your interest.

Regards,
Argonarth's LU Development Team

Please also note that those who do not fit the above qualifications should not be applying for this position. We are not looking to teach people right now. If you are interested in learning, head over to IV:MP's Wiki for tutorials on the Squirrel language, and study up on the functions and events listed on the LU Wiki.

Additionally, if you are hired, you are being trusted with a lot of power in one position. If you are in any way caught leaking information without my and the rest of the team's permission, you will be removed, Community Banned, and possibly have legal action taken against you. I take this job very seriously in this team. I am not looking for fake people out there that just want to see the code and do nothing, nor am I seeking those who just want a pretty little rank. If you get our consideration, you will have to work hard to keep it. If you end up obtaining the job, expect to be constantly developing on a regular basis.

For those who are already Developers in this community, you are also welcome to apply if you meet the above qualifications, however expect to be dedicating time equally among your projects if you want to be a multi-server Developer.

Our preference would be for members of the community we can evaluate, whom we've seen. If they aren't members of the community, it wouldn't entirely rule out any chances. It would have to be something strongly discussed.

Agreed...especially because we don't want competing communities getting their hands on our code. Keep in mind also that we're not just looking for random people who have Squirrel knowledge. They have to be trustworthy and of good moral character too.
