Title: Post / thread editing
Post by: Radagast on September 30, 2013, 01:14:18 pm
Until now, editing posts you have made has been impossible after a certain amount of time has passed since the post.

We, the webmasters, have reviewed the decision and have decided to allow thread and post edits once again. This should now mean that you no longer need to contact a board moderator to have your family/clan/business, &c. topic updated, but can do it yourself.

As usual, edits made must be relevant, and sabotage edits (e.g. on a clan or family topic) will be reverted. Similarly, auctions in which you have made a bid but edited the post to withdraw it will have the post reverted and a forum punishment issued. This should also serve as a warning not to bid if you do not have the funds to pay.

If you suspect anything has taken place which is similar to what's outlined above, please use the "report to moderator" function on the relevant post.

If you have any questions, feel free to post them below.

What do you mean when you say a "sabotage edit"?

What do you mean when you say a "sabotage edit"?

Many topics are made out of images rather than text as this offers more design capabilities. In some cases, the topic creator or player who hosts the image could change it so that it displays something completely irrelevant or even indecent. This is one example.

Another would be where one founder of a group/clan makes the Argonath Forum topic, and deletes its content, saying the group is closed. If the other founders don't agree, it can't be closed. This is a sabotage and we will pass the topic and the group to the remaining founders.

Oh I see, so like if I broke the Araatus topic but Max wanted it back?

Why was my post deleted? .-. I was simply commenting the fact that it's a little sad that people are actually doing those things to topics to the point where the edit function needed to be altered...

PM a forum administrator about it rather than going off-topic to ask.
