Title: Macromedia Flash Scripting Issue
Post by: Kitsune on November 16, 2007, 10:01:08 am
Before I start off, I have Macromedia Flash 8 Proffesional.

I would like to have it so that the user can type something in and have flash interpret it as if it was an actual command or mathamatical funtion and not just an real number or string.

Example:
User types 2*x*x+(-5)*x+5 into some input box
Flash proccesses it (for this example let x=3) and results in 8.
So far with everything I try, it only returns it as a string

Anyone know how?

Also another issue, how to store variables into flash. For example, let a user "Save Game" if i were to make a game on flash. I know you can use external files but I'm not so keen on that :\. If cnt do it in actual flash, then how to do with external file?
