Title: Who do i speak to?
Post by: benasack2000 on October 27, 2013, 03:50:30 am
Hey guys. Who do I talk to about an inactive leader of an official government group? To discuss the issues surrounding it and possible solutions. Any advice would be appreciated. If you do not have something nice to say, please don't say it.

Thank You

Try to contact the person who assigned the person to the job.
If he/she is not available then try contacting someone around his/her rank.
If he/she left the server, try contacting someone that has replaced him/her.

The said person is inactive himself and refuses to remove her. He keeps giving me "she is in charge of an independent group".

Ask a manager/community leader what your options are. If you are able to contribute to the group in a constructive way, you might be able to run the group. All depends on circumstances tho.

Give Gandalf a PM on the forum. Failing that, PM a community leader. There's no reason to have an inactive person in charge of a group if it means those under him have nothing to do or no way of communicating.

If whoever appointed him is also inactive, it might be a good idea to have him replaced as well. It's pointless to keep someone in a job if he's too lazy or too  busy to come in-game and do that job.

Uninformed opinions are a big problem. Community leaders lead the community - they're qualified and have every right to deal with such problems.

Uninformed opinions are a big problem. Community leaders lead the community - they're qualified and have every right to deal with such problems. This is a f**king roleplay server, why can't you f**king give others the responsibility to deal with such problems. Community leader is not a RP rank, and I believe - like everyone else would - that a community leader should perform non-RP duties such as administrative tasks, reports with high importance etc...

Your attitude is completely unacceptable. As a result, your posts are moderated. Further such comments will result in a mute or forum ban.

The reason for a hierarchical staff system is so problems can be solved. If there's no response from what's been tried (contacting the inactive leader of the group in question), then naturally things should be escalated. Community Leaders are here to assist across the whole community - unlike managers, their job isn't solely dealing with unban requests and administrative issues of one server, but resolving exactly this kind of problem across the whole community as in the past with groups, families and clans who haven't been able to maintain a stable leadership.

In future, keep uninformed opinions to yourself.

PS: We'll do our "Soviet duties", as you put it, wherever it's needed. In this case, it was dealing with your post. This is not a democracy, and we have simple rules which are there to be followed. By employing common sense, you'll work out what's appropriate, and what's not.
