Title: RS5 Feedback
Post by: Reece on November 03, 2013, 09:20:43 pm
Hi guys,

We would like to collect your feedback on RS5 as you have experienced it so far. This can be good or bad, buggy or powerful. Whatever you wish to inform us, and the rest of the community about RS5 we want to here it.

Some examples of what we want:

- What do you like and why?
- What don't you like and why?
- What do you miss and why?
- What do you wish was different and why?
- What feature do you really like that is new and why?
- What feature do you hate that is new and why?
- Do you prefer RS4 to 5 and why?

The key part of any feedback you give is WHY. Without the WHY being answered we can not give a proper response.

Feedback must be constructive, if it is not your post will be removed.

- What do you like and why?

Ladder but It can't be used for climbing and stuff so erm

- What don't you like and why?

- Lack of training for firemen

- can't use ladders to climb - seems wasted just for rescuing cats

- Loan doesn't give you a final option to refuse the loan offer, forces you to take the loan with the amount of interest it provides, in real life  bank history you would  have that information before finally deciding to accept or not.

-   H to enter: annoying not having /enter I suppose / having to get use to it, the text that shows you to enter using H is a bit small and you do have to look close to see it.

- The sign board on all departments - looks tacky... A sign board coming from the ground in front of LSPD would be nicer / like  a community information board or w.e.

- Being forced into a jurisdiction as a cop - I went on duty in LSPD, to patrol LS ,if I had someone waiting outside, it'd not be nice to them. People could use it just to teleport to LV.

- Unable to /su outside your jurisdiction but you can jail outside of it??? - I chased a chap from LVPD to LSPD before seeing his name, at high speed, when I did communicate to LS cops I lost him  then found him but couldn't /su him after he refused to stop. But I can jail suspects out of the Jurisdiction which seems odd.. IF you're not a LSPD cop you should not be able to jail there.

- the way in which you get options on where you want to spawn, it should be hospital for everyone me thinks.

- Fact that not many new font faces are used - for example, fancy text or GTA "WASTED" Font face could've been used for the LSPD sign board, it would have made it look nicer.

- The route going from LSPD through past Alhambra to past GS9 is not defended with any barrier or anything like the other sites are. Perhaps It could even just be a public pay phone placed cleverly or a static / non breaking Tree or lamp or sign. Anything that would prevent crazy drivers speeding around.

- What do you miss and why?
- Blue shirt skin no longer on the police force - this was very diverse skin which was useful in several ways, unless you've reserved it for a dedicated rescuer role, I would like to see it back!
- Advertising can be used by som

- What do you wish was different and why?
- Remove the hooker scripting. It's hypocritical when you see sometimes in /p in RS4 that admins say not too sexual because a younger is there, yet they can easily just go cyber sex someone over 20 years old, whilst they are some 10 year old kid. If Pedophiles could be bothered they would probably relish at the opportunity of pretending to be a girl on this community and being a hooker then taking it serious with the 10 year old boys they find on Argonath and using Argonath as a tool for their sick twisted lifestyle choice.
Either make it on the server 18+ only gamers or remove hookers, you can NOT say "don't talk this way or that way there are minors" when there is hooker job there.
If you don't see the seriousness of this situation I advise requesting real world police and child abuse charities to give the community advice on this area.
question to any developers: would they honestly be comfortable with their minor siblings or own children behaving in such a way? People under 18 should be protected from these things, even at 18 some are not mature enough... Teens will forever be interested in Sex, but it's often they, being inexperienced and new to this area will simply be taken advantage of.
If there are players in this community who are both adults and can  manage to seduce the other to go on cam and wank with them (cough will not say who said they did  it with who, and I wasn't involved) then it would be easy for some sick adult person to force a child to do the same.
Face the reality on this issue please and remove the feature until you can fully ensure it's not used by real world pedo's.

- Disable loan system at first, the loan system will just lead to immediate stranglehold on people having money, like RS4, to begin with prior to some future RS5 BSF injection, Rs5 will risk becoming a place where only 5 out of 100 players have bank balances above $1m because they was in the right place a the right time, not even much effort . I also wish the loan system was seriously considered on how it can affect economy, it shouldn't really create a false one.
- The police skins are limited to the jurisdiction if you're going to have it, so for example, black shirt cops only for LSPD selection menu. Cowboy cop skin only available at DPD, etc.

- Paydays have to be accepted, it seems odd that someone would not accept the payday, and for a new player if a payday is made, they will not have a wallet automatically and will not be able to accept it.
- Wallet system should be changed  it doesn't make sense, like 5 types of wallets? Maybe change the names of the wallets to stuff like: leather money sack, change purse, standard wallet, universal wallet, small money bag / fanny pack , large money bag.

- What feature do you really like that is new and why?
- Ladders - because you can climb it, we need more interactive features like this - interactivity with objects is good.

- What feature do you hate that is new and why?
- not to keen on the mechanic job, hate that the PNS was removed for them... what happens when no mechanic is online?
-

- Do you prefer RS4 to 5 and why?
Yes I do.
Although I have not seen full RS5 I can say Rs4 seems much more user friendly. The  complexity of RS5 is annoyance, I didn't plan on coming on RS5 and having to learn more than my current Year 2 Uni Assignment to play a game  It seems over complicated / worked on and doesn't seem like the code writes had fun at all when making it, so It seems as if it is supposed to be "we did a lot so you better like it or shut up" from what is given.
Newer features like multiple accounts is good but when you open an account you should automatically get a Card to use for the account for example, I am clueless as to how I can get a card, didn't even bother to look for bugs on it because it seems that section was one that was worked on the most so would not have much bugs.

Generally It's like offering someone a soft drink but forcing them to decipher a series of riddles and training schemes before doing it, especially when you would result to players immediately for information and advice, which plays into a idea that older people will know more than the new players and have an advantage, will be greater, so a new player will not be respected as much because he has to ask a lot of questions, will have to follow a series of procedures.

- Not yet complete.

What do you like and why?
SAPD system -I like it because it is really tough to be in SAPD ,so that will be an opportunity for everyone to get accept in SAPD,and no one will  be free to give the test.

Economy Script- As you can make saving account, you can get a loan, you can open a partner account and Etc.So that's really Epic!!

What don't you like and why?

None

What do you miss and why?

PNS- It was a shortcut for everyone ,now you will have to call for a mechanic to fix your car.

What do you wish was different and why?

Economy Script- As I said ,there are many accounts to be open,So that's a brilliant idea from the Scripter's ,it's really cool.

Business and house license - In RS 4.1 there was nothing such as business license or house license ,It's a nice roleplay ,you cannot illegally buy a house or a license .

What feature do you really like that is new and why?

Police duty point- A golden star that is really good.
Mechanic Job- It is really good ,more role play more Fun.
What feature do you hate that is new and why?

Till yet None
Do you prefer RS4 to 5 and why?

I prefer Rs5 more because as it is a new version ,at one time people want something new ,they don't want the something to be re-used again and again ,So same goes here ,as there are some changes in the command ,but yet we will be get used to it.

Thank you,

- What do you like and why?

- THESE FEATURES OF THE GROUP SYSTEM:
1. ) Official groups do not have to wait for scripters to add new ranks or do reforms. It will be an advantage for groups like SWAT to add new ranks, add new people to the ranks and permissions etc. I do like that since it is more logic than letting a SWAT Commander wait until a scripter will do it. It's good to have it for the future though this is not a big change.
2. ) Group vehicle's:  It would be cool to have a few vehicle's owned by a group of players so they could share it.

INTERIOR SYSTEM:
People are able to add objects into their house? Would be cool.

THESE FEATURES OF THE NEW FIREMAN SCRIPTS:
1. ) Cool lay out.
2. ) Missions improved.
3. ) Ladders, hell yeah.

GLASSES SCRIPTS:
We can wear glasses like before. That's cool.

HITMAN SYSTEM:
One sniper = dead? Invisible to make a silent kill? Awesome.

TRAINING SYSTEM FOR POLICE:
Good for new players.

SPAWNING SYSTEM:
In RS 4.1 we were able to pick 1 spawning spot of our choice. Now we have to make a choice out of 4 positions. Always an improvement.

ENTERING PROPERTIES:
A victory for the lazy. Glad you did not make '' F '' the command.

NEW /GU SYSTYEM:
Finally the animation and the /hail 1 animation instead of getting the annoying frozen screen.

/AREA UPDATE:
Easier to find people and interact with them.

CLOTHING SYSTEM:
Easier way of getting clothes, more realistic way.

WEAPONS GET REMOVED WHEN CARSURFING

- What don't you like and why?

- THE POLICE SCRIPT :
1. ) Jurisdiction limitations,
2. ) Removal of the free-cops, yes free-cops. You should be able to see if you are talking to a serious officer or to some volunteer.
3. ) Removal of the free cop skin.
4. ) To be added.

- The mechanic script:
1. ) First of all, you are at Tierra Robada, the most mechanics are most-likely in Los Santos. You have to wait for them to go to Tierra Robada, or you have to risk getting to Tierra Robada without blowing up.
2. ) Furthermore, the Mechanic job is really boring to do. It's just typing a command and you repaired a vehicle.
3. ) Not a lot of people will probably do it since it is boring. As result, we won't have a lot of mechanics. In conclusion we can't repair our cars.

-  A PART OF THE FIREMAN SCRIPT:
1. ) Players are making too much money too easy.
2. ) Now fireman have to wait at the station for a mission or get notified by someone else. This is boring. There should be either more missions, or something else to do for fireman at the station. (Like: 1 mission in Las Venturas, 5 minutes after one in Angel Pine, this way the same people won't get all the money)

- THE ECONOMIC SCRIPT:
Although the idea looks cool on paper, it is too complicated in practice. New players form a huge player base every day and it will take ages to learn them such a system. The RS 4.1 was a very easy script and user friendly script.

- GROUP SCRIPT ; DEATHMATCH POINTS :

I heard that if you want to be an official group, you have to be active for like 3 months with more than 5 players in it. Okay I like this, but now things will get more complicated again:

Groups get points for killing others/cops and this way a ''deatmatch count'' will form. This way we will be able to see and punish groups, may it be by server punishments or cash penalty's.

Now, this way you are only looking to official groups and not the groups who are here for 2 months, only deathmatching, will end up with a bad reputation and finally close the group. These are the groups who are death-matching together mainly, from my experience in Argonath I can say this.

However, it is impossible to change the limit for a group to 2 weeks, since then they would be able to sell drugs and then there would be no advantage for the official and more serious groups.

CRIMINAL SUSPECT/KILL SCORE???:

I heard about player kill points from several administrators: Players will get 1 point for a suspection or a kill. When they have 10 points it will cost them $10.000. If they have 9 points and they get jailed, it disappears and goes back to 0 points. They will also get $180 for the jailtime. Isn't this unlogic?

- What do you miss and why?

ACCESSORIES:
1. ) Where are our caps, hats etc?
2. ) Bandana's.
3. ) Every other possible thing in SAMP.

ADVERTISEMENTS SYSTEM:
1. ) System should be changed completely, it's too easy to place an advertisement.

WHY IS /USE REMOVED ?!
1.) One of the coolest features.

MORE OBJECTS LIKE LADDERS SO WE CAN HAVE MORE SCRIPTED FUN, DO NOT REMOVE /use PLEASE.

- What do you wish was different and why?

LOAN SYSTEM:
1. ) Thou shall not be able to take loans at the start, at least for 3 months.
2. ) We should be able to know the amount of interest we are supposed to pay before the loan is confirmed.
3. ) A command to view your loan, the amount you still owe the bank and how long you still have before the loan ends. (/loaninfo)

ECONOMIC SYSTEM:
Make it less complicated, though a bit like the current way.

SPAWNING SYSTEM:
1. ) Suspected people can now spawn anywhere if they relog.  Change it to the last spawn location only for people who are suspected. I mean, what the hell?
2.) After /kill you should ALWAYS end up in a HOSPITAL, this is to avoid abuse.

ALL THE THINGS WHICH I DONT LIKE TO BE REMOVED OR IMPROVED.

- What feature do you really like that is new and why?
Check question 1.

- What feature do you hate that is new and why?
Check question 2.

- Do you prefer RS4 to 5 and why?

Yes - I would prefer to have the good features added to RS4.1 and make an RS4.2.

1. ) RS4 is way more user-friendly than RS5. RS5 is too complicated, if the veterans do not even understand it, let by the new players.
2. ) The police script is a huge bummer for all the police officers. Not being able to patrol with your best partner is a drama. This will really cause some players, especially from the law side, to leave.
3. ) RS4 had more objects to use and attach to your character than RS5. It's more like ''RP IT'' than scripts.
4. ) Check question 2 for more things that are unlogic and flawed about RS5.

To be continued...

updated with /gu, /area, clothing script and loan system as of 04/11 19:40

- What do you like and why?
The SAPD Testing system is a great addition as it requires more skill than typing /duty, as I found out the shooting you can actually fail at if you don't have any actual skill, smae with the driving. But the question will soon be stale and everyone will just look up on google to find the answers if they don't know or understand the questions, that is why I think more dynamic questions that can shift around.

The new firemen script. Just.. holy shit you have overdone yourselves by this, from the limitless fun with ladders to actual sirens, to the incredible fire missions,  :app:

The Mechanics, also an great addition, so is the removing of the PNS as it contributes to the Argovision of the "more player interaction" but I think it can be abused by people just ramming and asking for repairs.. simmilar to an feature we have right now Slowly looks at the medics

- What don't you like and why?
The Economy sistem, it looks like you put days if not weeks of work into it so I actually feel bad for bashing on it, but it just isn't a good feature, I liked RS4 because it was simple and I had my freedom, 1mil in hand, no cards, no wallets but now I'm restricted to having 5k in hand so I need to withdraw 5k every time I want to buy a weapon that is more than that, it is just not simple anymore, I feel like I need to be doing maths, I mean Yes ofcourse you had straight A's in math, but I don't , and I refuse to count, but with that said I'll sure get used to it, I mean the comunity had to get used to worse things..

The Speedometer, it just looks like a speedometer from a free 2 download script on samp forums, it had no thought put into making it, who's idea was it to put a speedometer in the middle right side, why not bottom left, or over the minimap.

The weapon prizes stayed the same, which I kind of understand since there will be no actual money spawned anymore, but still.. some weapons are just too damn cheap.

The jurestriction or whateverthehellthatis .. I don't understand it yet that is why I don't like it..

- What do you miss and why?
More criminal and civilian scripts?
I mean hawt damn, there are tens of thousands of lines being put into the police jobs and being a civilian is still the same as RS4. People shouldn't need to be in a job to have a crapton of possibilities for them.

- What do you wish was different and why?

The civilian thingie

- What feature do you really like that is new and why?

Like I said, the fireman job is INCREDIBLE

- What feature do you hate that is new and why?
Speedometer

- Do you prefer RS4 to 5 and why?

I preffer RS4 because it's more to my style, I like the KISS rule (Keep it simple, stupid) When I log on I want all the features avilable to me but not have to use them, meaning that I don't want to waste 10 hours to figure out how to place a card in my wallet, I just want to /withdraw /deposit /wire /send,
But than again there is so much new things to do in RS5..

Group System
I have yet to see it in a full working state, but it seems like it's a great script. You can set multiple founders now, which is really good, and the ranks and permissions system seem like it's really well thought out.
My only gripe with it is the complexity of the commands. I found myself having the go check /grouphelp every other command.
Also "/groupmessage [groupname] [message]" should be "/g [message]" with me able to set a primary group. Also /groupmessage isn't an option on /chatmode yet.

SAPD /duty System
I like the verbal tests, but I don't really see the point in the shooting or driving tests. In the shooting test you just mindlessly hammer your mouse button in the general direction of the target, and the driving test is just a simple Point A to Point B with no obstacles whatsoever. What about something like the driving tests in single player (with the cones and stuff)?
The jurisdiction system would be fine I guess if the player could choose their own jurisdiction. As it stands now they have to go on and off duty for ages trying to get the city they want. It's dumb and it will kill the SAPD, a little bit like the start of RS3 did.

Fireman Script
This script is great. The ladders are great. Being able to put out fires with trucks is great, and so is all of the new terrain stuff you added for the fire scenarios. The only thing I can think of right now is a way to check the location of a fire when you're not at the fire station.

Mechanics and PnS
While I like the idea of mechanics as another job option, removing the PnS is probably the worst thing about RS5.
Removing sprunk machines was one thing, since there was still a regular and static alternative (food shops) but with this there is no guarantee of there being a mechanic online. Not having Pay n' Sprays will be a deal breaker for most new players, and I eagerly await the day they're put back in when it's realised what a terrible mistake was made.

House System
I haven't had an opportunity to furnish anything yet, but I really like that you can change the interior yourself.
Also, the new text for markers (on the right side of the screen instead of across the whole thing) is great. Pressing H is also much better than /enter.

Economy System
I really like the idea that a lot of thought went into this, but as it stands now I think it's way too complicated for people to understand. I still don't really get it and I've been messing around with it for awhile ingame.

Skins System
I like the new skin purchasing system. It's neat and well organised. The only gripe I have is again the guide, it should tell you to use /pay when you are actually choosing the skins. My first time buying a skin I had to exit the shop to find that out.

Criminal Group Scripts
These don't seem to be finished/done yet. I recommend doing a big meeting with the criminal group leaders like we did for RS4 (except this time, actually script some of the ideas) to get ideas. We're not dumb, we know what stuff would be cool. :)

- Do you prefer RS4 to 5 and why?
RS4 is way more user friendly. RS5 almost needs a huge manual just to get things working. Heck, I had to go read the entire wiki page just to work basic functions. If it's too hard for vets, it's definitely no good for new players. It has loads of good ideas, but I had to refer to the help menu too often to use them intuitively.

The jurisdiction system would be fine I guess if the player could choose their own jurisdiction.

That would defeat the purpose of jurisdiction if people were able to select their jurisdiction. Everyone would just select "LS" and that's it. The rest of the map would be empty.

Haven't really played alot on the RS5 server so I can't say much since I didn't test much of the things but here is what I know:
- What do you like and why?
I like the SAPD exam but in my opinion the shooting and driving is useless. you dont do much like Panda said. also you should change the questions after you fail the exam once beacuse eventually everyone will remember the answers and pass it and it wont make him a good officer.
Also I like the new fireman system and some other small points that I could see.
What don't you like and why?
I dont like the jurisdiction system. if you are assigned to LV you can't suspect people in LS/SF.. also forcing people to play at some boring city which most of the time nothing happens is useless. most of the people play at LS here.

Yea but if people get stuck with anything but LSPD they're not about to patrol an empty city. They'll just stay off duty until they do get LSPD.
It's a lovely idea but at the end of the day everyone will stay in LS so it doesn't work.

What do you like and why? I like that you have to go through a small test before you receive your duty weapons and your duty rights.

What don't you like and why?

What do you miss and why? I miss the simplicity of Argonath.

What feature do you really like that is new and why? The ladders on the FD vehicles.

Do you prefer RS4 to 5 and why? I prefer RS4. I like the way the server is right now. I'm sorry but I got disappointed with RS5. I feel like RS5 is too complicated and killed the spirit Argonath had. For me it doesn't look like the same server.
Please don't think I'm bad girling about it, that's how I honestly feel about RS5 :/
I appreciate the effort developers put into it though.

There's a few quirky issues, such as when you go into the Chat Help Menu (/help, follow choice to "Chat"). The wrong box has been used, and so users can select each line of the help in that menu. If you look at it, you'll see what I mean.

Main thing I noticed was the variation between the CMB study and the Police Training.
The Police Training asks who the Chief of Police is - the correct answer is Paul Hernandez.
The CMB Study tells us that the Chief of Police is Plam Knight.

Perhaps there should be a central choice on the DB which could be read for both of these answers so there can never be confliction? Even if both are the Chief's of Police, it is not made clear to new players.

I think when RS5 is made mainstream, some issues which come about can be dealt with swiftly...but I also believe the developers of RS5 need to run through each other's systems in-game as they would be the people knowing how to fix things quickly.

I'd go into detail...but seeing as Testing is my profession, I really don't fancy writing up bug reports when it's already something I do every day at work.  :gand:

- What do you like and why?

It's very good. Having the cards, wallets, etc. It's very decorative with a purpose. That you only allow loans to be usable to buy properties only is pretty cool as well. It gives everyone a fair chance to get a good property when they start playing so I will disagree with a few posts above which says "They can't get loans before 3 months".

I like it. It is decorative. However, I still believe it's unnecessary having a script for joining as an officer. Back in time when we asked "Why not give a tutorial" it was not even hesitating when you said "no". However, you still implement a little quiz which is blatant obvious so everyone can pass it easily. So I like it, but I still do believe it will not change a lot.

It seems a little bugged though but it seems suitable and very nice.

I enjoy the new housing and furniture. It seems very nice and that's something I'll enjoy in the future probably.

- What don't you like and why?
This one got a lot of negative points if you ask me. I do not like it simply because it disallows players from using the Pay 'N Spray. Secondly because it makes the radar, scorelist and interferance to a completely rainbow. This can be changed which I will explain below.

There are no difference? Same orange dot on the radar. At least improve scripts for criminals. Give them a little more advantages especially now as PNS are gone. Perhaps give them a white dot/name tag?

- What do you miss and why?

N/A

- What do you wish was different and why?
Mechanic should not have that much script improvements. They should be allowed to change colors on cars and fix them for a cheap price. Simple as that. Bring back PNS. Why? Because there might be times when there are no mechanic available, and then you can't repair your vehicle. Secondly if you'll decide to keep the mechanic system like this: at least disallow SAPD to driveby on fast cars or any criminal unless they are drive-bying themselves.

It sucks when you enter the duty marker, you can only select a skin and you'll spawn in either LS, LV or SF. Why are you being TPed there? It's so silly. People will either way get a cruiser and go back to LS if they want to. People patrol where they feel is suitable for them to patrol, and due to their roleplay perspectives, not because you force them to stay in a city by TPing them. When going to the duty marker however, you can't enter it to change skin. It's either "close the box" or "go off duty" which sucks. Make us able to change the skins.

There are many points to this. First of all when you're already suspected. If you're not keeping PNS, make criminals invisible for cops or white dot them. Removing PNS is just another disadvantage for criminals, and cops already got hundreds of advantages. They can drive-by just when seeing a car that goes 2km/h faster than the cruiser, and that's annoying. As well, criminals should be able to control the government. Take ownerships of SAPD/LSPD and other departments. Perhaps the LS Government, etc. Like for example IRL, the Japanese Yakuza has ownership of most departments in Japan and Hong Kong.

- What feature do you really like that is new and why?
Because it's awesome! Finally something that you can decorate for yourself.

Because the economy doesn't base on criminals. The money that is in RS4 is either earned by a criminal, payday, lotto or admin provided via events. Finally the government is standing for the economy.

- What feature do you hate that is new and why?
What a f**king rainbow! Gives me headache. Let us toggle some chats at least!! Help + Mechanic + Fireman + Cop + Admin = BAD COMBINATION

- Do you prefer RS4 to 5 and why?

RS5 because it's a ten times better script than what RS4 is.

Hey it's Brad, my brother wandered off the server bored and I can't remember my forum account, so I've pinched his :P

- What do you like and why?
Loan system is good, with automated payment after a certain time and stuff, vehicle system is looking alright from what I've seen, looks a bit similar to the old one, but that might actually be totally different now :P
- What don't you like and why?
The entire cash system with wallets and stuff, it's a bit too complex for a server with public chat if you ask me :P
- What do you miss and why?
I miss RS4 tbh, but yeah :P
- What do you wish was different and why?
I'd prefer no limit to spare change, as an alternate to those who don't like the wallet system
- What feature do you really like that is new and why?
The banking system is fantastic, like I said, a little too complex, but that's easier to get used to than the cash system
- What feature do you hate that is new and why?
Once again, wallets and cards
- Do you prefer RS4 to 5 and why?
RS4 is just more user friendly than RS5, the reason I got into Argonath is because it was easy to pick up, and kept me hooked. I can't see us getting a lot of new players with such a complicated system.

Great topic, this is what I have been waiting for. Instead of using the given form I'll just rate the new features as seen in wiki (http://wiki.argonathrpg.eu/index.php?title=SA-MP_RS5_Guide_for_Beginners)

Drugs

- Ehm... why? Why did we change the system? I don't think there were any problems with the system in RS4.1. It's a good update that you don't sell drugs to managers anymore, but why would you drop the price of drugs so much, and over complicate the way of acquiring drugs?

SAPD

- The training is a great idea (*cough* which I suggested months ago and nobody from the admin team wanted it as it "reduced RP" *cough*), and I'm fine with ARPD removed. I mean, why shouldn't we have that test? Why should we give weapons and authority to someone without any knowledge about being a LEO?

- The jurisdiction idea is BAD. I thought that Argonath was lite-RP? Why would you force someone to spend their day in the middle of nowhere? I mean, if 90% of crimnals are in LS, then why would you force so many cops out of LS? This will create an uneven balance of the locations of cops/criminals. This can be easily roleplayed within SAPD, and doesn't need any forcing or scripts. Besides, when roleplayed, the SAPD leaders can give much more effictive assingments of jurisdictions, as they know what's going on at the moment in San Andreas. SCRIPTS DON'T.

Economy

- I personally think that the new changes are good. Well, there was nothing wrong with the last system, but this doesn't seem that bad either. The problem really is that new players might not want to keep playing in Argonath as the money system already has like 10 different variables and tools. Also it's very complicated, what's the deal with the wallets? Why do we have like 3 wallets and 3 cards along with 3 bank accounts or something. Do we really need this many additions?

- I don't really get the idea of the new loans. This only reduces the communication between players and makes it a automated system that only includes you and a whole buttload of scripts.

- The new pickpocketing system is quite funny and reduces that amount of AFK players, but once again, I don't really think if we need it. I really like the /sponsor and /donate commands.

Properties

- I think that this is the most succesful addition in RS5.

Furniture - cool
Property rental - awesome!
Stock system - very nice, increases RP
Trucking - great
Territory - I don't quite understand this yet, but maybe in the future.

I would have hoped for more punishments to players who are inactive but own businesses. I haven't seen the stock restrictions in Ammu-nation yet, but I hope they are strict.

Jobs + others

Clothes
-
A great new system, really helps out people who are looking for a specific skin

Gym training
- Cool, I guess. I don't think I will ever be using this though. Unless its an event.

Mechanic job
- The second most stupid addition in RS5. Don't get me wrong, the job itself is a good idea, but removing Pay 'n' Spray is just a horrible move. I think that both of them can co-exist, you just need to implement some system that makes PnS inferior to mechanics, such as high price, or a waiting time of around 1 minute or more for your car to get fixed.

Fireman
- I like almost every update to the job. But what I don't like is that firemen are forced to do RP fire calls when there are no missions. This kind of forcing of RP is NOT good.

The new interior entering
- EPIC. This is a GREAT update, and works perfectly. I can go from one building to another in less than 0.2 seconds due to my fast computer. I would like that /exit would be removed completely, as it can be abused way too easily.

Hitman system
- Awesome addition, that was really needed. I haven't had the chance to test out the new system yet, but it looks very promising. The only thing that is a bit weird that the hitman will be ghosted. This will make the hitman very easy to stop if the civilian sees the hitman. But I still like it, alot.

- What do you miss and why?
The simplicity of RS4.1. The complicated RS5 will put off a lot of new players.

- Do you prefer RS4 to 5 and why?
At this moment, I prefer RS4.1. But if the scripters are willing to take out some features of RS5, I would like RS5 more.

- What do you like and why?
Anything, really; Most of the features are derived from RS4 so you're quite familiar with them, the new features stand out and work pretty well too.
- What don't you like and why?
Certain parts of the Economy stand out as redundant; Notably the Wallets and Cash, which can be merged in my opinion.
- What do you miss and why?
WYSIWYG; From simple commands to menus, It's a bit of a clunky workaround.
- What do you wish was different and why?
Above stated; The menus are nice to use in detail, although the commands simplify certain handlings better, For categorization and management the menus are great; though for sending money it's jumping hurdles.
- What feature(s) do you really like that is new and why?
Anything.
- What feature(s) do you hate that is new and why?
I would have to choose for this one, I do not really "Hate" certain features, I do think some need a second thought, jurisdictions and loans for example.
- Do you prefer RS4 to 5 and why?
Though both sides have their own pros and cons, I am excited for the full release of RS5; For there's time to move on; changes have to be made, and as such: you need to sacrifice certain aspects to do so.
RS5 is exactly what that is about, and I respect this. Even though we might lose a few because they think it would be too complicated or too bad, it's their opinion that should be respected as well.

1.What feature do you really like that is new and why?

I like /CMB study because it helps new players to understand, first they have to go to the site of CMB to study for exam and now they can study here by using /cmbstudy, they'll not have any difficulty and any problem so that's why I like it.

2.What do you like and why?

I like new firemission because it don't take too much time to complete the mission and it also make good money.

3.Do you prefer RS4 to 5 and why?

I like Rs4, it is easy to understand and rs5 is difficult to understand.

Just as it is in open beta, enter the proximity of the door, and just press H to exit. /exit works too atm, but I don't see any roleplaying advantages to using it.

Interiors should be like any other area in the game; teleporting is not allowed.

I thought there would be more feedback considering how people are talking about RS5 on RS4 server?

There should be much more feedback except people are just there to see a new thing and have fun.
You should make it bannable to play long times and not even give a feedback.

- What do you like and why?
I like the new fireman system with ladder and panger because give the firemans more roleplay
- What don't you like and why?
The new SAPD system and juridractions because you can't go out of ther you spawn it and also because no all know SAPD regulations
- What do you miss and why?
ARPD Cops becuase no all be ready to become SAPD no know the rules of SAPD and we have more suspect abuse maybe
PNS because can fix our car automatical and contune our chase.
- What do you wish was different and why?
No had juridractions for go everywher and can suspect everywhere.
- What feature do you really like that is new and why?
New economic system was good and will help the newcomers alot for buy house business and vehicles.
- What feature do you hate that is new and why?
The license we have 3 and only we need ned be one like RS4.
- Do you prefer RS4 to 5 and why?
RS4 because now no have bugs and etc and no do restart the server for fix that bugs

RS4 has MANY bugs you may not notice. Also, we still do restarts late in the night when most players are offline.

Thanks for your other feedback though. We'll be taking it along with the rest into our discussions for planning and further development.

Yeah, there's that unthawing bug I noticed, I wonder how that happened  :gand:

In all honesty though, I'm assuming that SAPD's regulations will in no way apply to everyone, that only the colour and name of the organisation has changed from ARPD to SAPD, and that for group rules to apply, you still need to apply to the group first?

What do you like and why?

New Fire Department (Sirens, Pager, Alarm, Ladder). It increases RP amongst the firefighters
SAPD Training. It is good that new ARPD officers can at least learn the basics of law enforcement before they interact with the public
SAPD Juridictions. It makes more sense to not have LSPD, SFPD, LVPD officers go out of their assigned zones. It makes for more communication and RP with other police.

- What don't you like and why?

1. No /fireban, firefighters can still abuse things. The SAFD should still be able to control it just like the SAPD can.
2. No fire department rescue squad, ladder TRUCK, or HAZMAT truck. (SAFD asked for a red enforcer to be at the LSFD to act as a rescue/HAZMAT truck, we know it has SAPD written on it, but new SA:MP updates allow changes to be written on the truck, it would increase RP. The ladder truck was removed like the one from RS4)
3. No FD medic duty at the LSFD. The SAFD has "Fire Medics", they are cross-trained firefighters and paramedics. These are different then government EMS medics. There should be a spawnpoint at the LSFD as there is already a fire ambulance.

- What do you miss and why?

- What do you wish was different and why?
1. The LSFD sirens, with audio scripts, you can put an actual fire dispatch tone out ex. BEEEEP BEEEEEP
2. EMS should get a station. They are sub-official and are soon to be approved. Just a station with a few bays with ambulances and

- What feature do you really like that is new and why?
- SAPD Jurisdiction's. It increases RP and communication.

- What feature do you hate that is new and why?
1. /pager, yes it does keep the firefighters from going out of the station, but it is stupid for firemen to hover over the dispatch desk to wait for a call. It should be scripted as when a firefighter is within the station limits, they can hear the alarms and get the information forwarded to their radio.

- Do you prefer RS4 to 5 and why?
I prefer RS5 right now only because RS4 is a little buggy. But i'm sure once that all gets resolved, I'll prefer RS5.
Title: Re: RS5 Feedback

Drugs

but why would you drop the price of drugs so much
Because the prices have become absolutely RIDICULOUS. Someone buying weed for $40 used to be unheard of. The prices have just kept going up and up and up, and it isn't even because of supply and demand - it's just people wanting to one-up others on their buying prices, so they can get all the drugs.

People are moaning about new players going onto police duty without no knowledge of SAPD regulations. Well, if you think deeper and not so shallow, you would notice that there is a test on the server before you can become an officer. This test asks you questions REGARDING SAPD Regulations. So this thing about new players not knowing the regulations etc, is out of the question.

In order to pass the test, you need to know the SAPD Regulations.

Here's the example that I am referring to;
- What don't you like and why?
The new SAPD system and juridractions because you can't go out of ther you spawn it and also because no all know SAPD regulations
- What do you miss and why?
ARPD Cops becuase no all be ready to become SAPD no know the rules of SAPD and we have more suspect abuse maybe
Title: Re: RS5 Feedback
Post by: Pingster on November 15, 2013, 06:51:42 am
I think the issue is that up until now, unless you made a decision to join a law enforcement group (not just go on duty), you didn't need to follow their rules, but you could still do the duty.
Title: Re: RS5 Feedback
Post by: Pagon on November 17, 2013, 04:59:27 pm
I think that the reason people might dislike RS5 are features like, forced jurisdictions as a cop, no Pay n SPray, city chat, complex money systems, no ARPD and so on. Things that limit your freedom. People want to play casually in a non-serious RP server, but now they are forced to change. This is just my theory though.

Would it be possible to release RS5, but only implement a few updates at a time? For example, keep the old money system, but after like a month or two, release the new money system, once people have gotten used to the old one? This would make the argument of "hardness of getting used to" nil, anc you wouldn't have to scrap the script.

EDIT: Dual post because of the hassle going on on the other thread, but I'll keep this here.

The only complain I can do about RS5 is that it's too yellowish.
Admin chat, admin notifications, help chat, PMs, mechanics... I guess it should be tweaked somehow.
Mostly mechanic/help chat, when they both talk at the same time, it's kind of confusing.

Not really, things like the money system affect all scripts and some wouldn't function without it

In the transition to RS3 we were able to request a reissue of our license and passport.
There's no reason that it would be any different in RS5.
