She paid for the console and for the game so it's normal she didn't destroy them just like I wouldn't; I wouldn't let him play until he got rid of his addiction though.

If his mother care about his life, she wouldn't even count how much is it, the life is more important and expensive tthan a console.

The thing is that you don't necessarily need to break his console to make him stop playing.
