Microsoft has announced that it was going to drop support for Windows XP entirely; meaning that users have to switch to Windows 7 eventually; I've been doing this quite recently although there's one recurring issue:
During gameplay it seems that the game tends to hang at certain points, entirely random.
Whatever it causes is rather unknown; Though I presume some of you have gotten this problem before.
As far as my set-up goes; The game itself is installed upon a separate hard-drive, therefor SA:MP follows the same apart from its required libraries.
Suggest some solutions; It would help a lot :)
One of my thoughts was to re-install the game completely on the partition of 7 instead.

The easiest problem solving method is that of trying the most basic things first, like moving the game to another location, as you mentioned the Windows 7 partition.

Once again, I have to suggest checking the event viewer to see what errors come up whenever it freezes.
-
To clarify however; These freezes last mere seconds before everything returns to normal; Quite akin to taking a screenshot.
-
More so FPS lag spikes than freezing I assume. Have you changed hardware or software before the problems started?

Still, it'd be informative to check the logs. Hit me up on steam if you need help with it.

None at all.

Let's see if they hold something then.

Issue seems to be resolved as the phenomena disappeared.
Visual settings were on High, set to Low.
Priority in TASKMGR set to High instead.
And so far a stable FPS got churned out of it.
Bit of a dunce here if you think about it

Two important things to check:
1. Make sure Windows is completely updated. Microsoft has released MANY fixes for games and programs, as well as their own OS itself, to solve common issues.
2. Make sure your computer can handle Windows 7 and still have enough power left over for the stuff you are running.
