Post by: arifaiman on November 17, 2013, 03:51:45 pm
So, I tried to start up MTA SA and this problem appeared.

I use Windows 8 and my GPU is GT720M if that is needed.

Make sure your DirectX is up to date. This error is often caused when your game resolution is set for high moniters.

I would also recommend updating your graphics drivers.

Windows 8 and DirectX 11 tend to cause trouble with San Andreas, either downgrade your DirectX, change the compatibility of your San Andreas.exe or...go back to Win7. Atleast that's how a few friends fixed their game when they had the same problem.

Updated my graphic card but I don't have any idea which DirectX I have right now. Any idea how to check it?

Take a look at the following link (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/157730).

I am using Windows 8 and DirectX 11 and I have no issues at all with my San Andreas or SA:MP. No compatibility modes, not running as admin.

Likewise, I am currently running Windows 8.1 on my desktop system and laptop;
I haven't had to fiddle with anything I just installed GTA San Andreas along with SA:MP and MTA:SA and could play both of them without any hassles.

All fine here with Win8. Have you tried Googling the error? I can't at the moment since i'm mobile.

Make sure you remove your ENB.

Nope. Using a clean GTA SA. By the way, I updated and the error doesn't pop up anymore but the game doesn't launched. Still using DirectX 11

Do you still experience this problem?

If so, what exactly happens?

Well, I am not sure if it's going to work but still let's give it a try. Go to My Documents > GTA:SA User Files > Backup your current gta_sa.set. Now as you have the backup, delete the gta_sa.set (Not permanently) from the user files. This will restore your default settings for screen resolution and stuff. Try launching the game, if it doesn't work, replace the gta_sa.set (which will be created automatically again after launching the game) with the existing one in GTA:SA userfile. The backup file contains all your previous settings, which will be re-gained after you move it to user files again (If the deleting of existing one doesn't work for MTA:SA).

Nothing.

Both doesn't work, sadly.

Try doing this

Go to your GTA:SA installation
Open it
Click something in the lines of 'install DirectX'
Try again then

Update your graphics card driver, if it still doesn't work; try reinstalling your MTA, doesn't take a lot of time.

It worked now but I don't have any idea how.

Edit: Not working again..
