Title: RS5 RP opportunity for non-scripted earnings - part 2 - civilians
Post by: Teddy on November 19, 2013, 02:56:48 am
RS5 has multiple points of civilian RP experience, even without direct script support. Here are a few I have come up with.

Real Estate Agent

While this was possible in RS4, in RS5 we have taken it a step further in possibilities. You are allowed to own an unlimited amount of properties. While it is true that for multiple properties the price of a license will be expensive, you can create a real-estate agency which has multiple agents in control of 3 - 4 properties each.

You can do open houses, or private showings of the property. This would be a unique aspect and only limited to the creativity of those present. A real-estate agent or the agency over all can charge a real-estate fee, similar to the buyout system currently. As an agent you'll take a fee equal to a certain percentage of the property upon sale.

Investment Strategist (later available)

If we haven't confirmed already, Argonath Stock Market (http://asm.argonathrpg.com) will have script integration in RS5. This means you can have brokers in-game, investments in businesses, and etc. This system will require constant experts to monitor stock prices this creates an opportunity. As an investment strategist you will monitor the stock market and make predictions on the future of the market. You can have private clients in which you will be responsible in advising where they should invest there money in order to make a maximum gain, and when they should pull their assets.

Hedge Fund Manager (later available / REALLY COMPLICATED)

A hedge fund is a stock market term for where investors give their money to the hedge fund, this hedge fund manager is then responsible to properly invest the collective funds into the best possible location. The Argonath Stock Market does regulate these hedge funds (requirements to be posted). These requirements include that an investor must have a certain value in equity, and networth. As the manager you can control the length in which a person must keep their investments in, before they can select to pull out. What percentage they keep of the profit gain, if any. Why is this complicated? You need to be on top of the market, as a hedge fund manager you will be moving at least millions around between portfolios, and banks on a daily basis in order to ensure maximum profit. Failure, can result in serious consequences from both your investors, and the stock market itself.

Campaign Manager

Mayors can't run for election without a right hand man! As a campaign manager you will be responsible for promoting your mayor candidate, their beliefs and morals to the citizens of the respected city they are wishing to represent. You can arrange advertisements in-game, rallies, town hall meetings, call centers to reach citizens and inform them and so much more. Mr Elect will be responsible for paying you, and will need to be pre-arranged between you. Perhaps even after his election... a little corruption can get you an extra... "bonus" ;)

Campaign Volunteer

Similar to manager, though will participate in the events and other aspects held.

Mayor's Aid/Secretary

The mayor is a busy man (or woman), they'll need to keep busy around the city. As a mayor's aid you can ensure the mayor makes it on time, and in style to all these important events, meetings, dinners, town hall meetings. Answer calls, filter complaints from the citizens and ensure the overall well-being of the mayor.

Mayor's Publicist

Publish advertisements and other press releases on behalf of the mayor's office.

Other Mayor Staff Roles

Mayor's Security - Protect the mayor from threats, kidnapping, and extortion
Mayor's transportation services - Transport the mayor on time and in style to his events/meetings
Mayor's Election Staff - Ensure the mayor is on track for re-election

Debt Adviser

Good with numbers and strategy? Find yourself some clients under a mountain of debt. Debt is a new concept in RS5 in which there is no negative balance in hand or wallets, any money in the negatives is considered debt which you owe to the state. Debt can pile up after a few mistakes here and there. As a debt adviser you will advise your client in getting out of debt, and staying debt free.

Expansions/Other Similar:

Credit Adviser - Advise clients in maintaining a high credit score

Around two months ago I made a RP system for the mayor thing, just to use cityhalls more. It had kind of the same 'ranks' as yours it was just not scripted, I really like it :)

I see there are obviously many more features in RS5, which apparently from what I have read will probably also bring more roleplay within the server. I really like the real estate agent thing, good job guys!

These are only possibilities on how to use existing RS5 scripts for roleplay purposes. You don't have to do anything suggested here, neither is any of these jobs scripted. On top of that, these are hardly the only things you can roleplay.

Teddy, is there any chance that there might be a full list of RS5 scripted features (and related commands? - for betatesting purposes this one.) coming up, perhaps listed by developers who created them, and compiled into one list? I realise it's likely going to be HUGE, but you know. It's going to need to be done anyway, for Wiki/Guide purposes.

Might sound complicated but it's there for people who wish to use it and make something from it, I believe with a solid Mayor system in place it's be something interesting to see played out.  These topics that are springing up just make RS5 more interesting.

So if you will be able to own multiple properties (WHICH IS AWESOME!!), does it mean that you can also use them all simultaniously, or do you have to choose?

Would be pretty funny, would be one rich mofo.  :gand:

Though, I'm not entirely sure the exact numbers but to afford that many house licenses would require upwards of 1b
