-
OH SHIT! SANANDREAS ON PHONE? My phone is ready for it.
-
Gotta buy better phone i guess xD
-
Dayum, improved shadows, enhanced characters and vehicles; along with better graphics? Why isn't this out for PC?! :uhm:
-
I recently bought a Nexus 7 :D
I'm sure it can run it really well! :bananarock: Can't wait to play SA:MP on tablets!!
-
i hate all phone games:(, touch screen d pads and analogs are so unreliable for the basic reason u cant feel them, you will miss the analog/dpad loads!, tried all the old emulators games just don't feel the same though they look it
-
My S3 will be the first one who will lunch it on a phone in this world. It's a dream just happening right now!
P.s. I hope it's free....
-
Nice.

Yeah right.

Awesome! Developers will probably start working on SA:MP for android too when it relases.

lel no, I doubt SAMP will ever make it to Phones, just imagine the scripting and other crap.
-
What are the requirements for GTA 3 and Vice city to work on a mobile phone? (Amount of ram, clock speed, cores, space I mean)
-
SAMP or single player?
-
Moved to correct board.
-
SAMP or single player?
Single player. SA:MP is the multiplayer client for PC.

Ask TheRock, he has those running smoothly on least specs :D
-
That's so great. I'm getting iPhone 4s for my birthday, which is exactly on the 22nd of December. Seems like I have yet another birthday wish... ;D
-
As awesome as this is, I hate to crush some of your dreams in saying the chances of a proper multiplayer client such as SA:MP are fairly low. Developing such for mobile platforms isn't quite the same as for PC and the networking support doesn't work the same. If it doesn't have some peer-to-peer feature builtin, I would be surprised to see anyone develop the features onto it.

There's a TeamFortress 2 look a like multiplayer game on Android already, just so you know.

What the hell?
Just now you can play it on this.. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/8f/Game-Boy-Original.jpg

We are oficially playing a game that is now considered a clasic, I still remember when these graphics were mind blowing, I miss the old days where having a potato for PC was actually good, we are playing an ancient game, for such a long time this comunity stayed strong, the server stayed godlike through so much time, always when a mobile release for a game comes out you know that the computer tech has gone way the fuck out the window since then, this comunity stuck strong since we thought 8 polygons for an arm was enough, GG dudes, this is the definition of making it.
I recently bought a Nexus 7 :D

Don't get your hopes up, even if you could you wouldn't be able to be on the same server as the PC guys.

Apart from controlling the game on a mobile device which is generally awful, I can bet it will take up a fair bit of space too..
I can see it turning into more of a frustration on a phone than it would be entertaining.

2GB , 4 max, not a problem at all when you have a 32GB or larger SD card.
Tablets or larger screen devices, also you can connect a Xbox or PS controller to an Android device via OTG.
-
I know what I'll be doing at work to pass the time when this drops.
-
It would be the same as saying take a laptop with you to play the game.
What's the point of a game on a mobile device if you are going to carry a controller around with you?

Working?

Umm you don't have to, there's controls on the device too you know. Like tilt the device to drive a car and such.

Devin let me put it that way, it would be silly if you walked with your laptop in the bathroom to take a poop, it's like when my friend asked me how I got 3 stars in every angry birds level, one day I had food posioning and had to finish all my phone games. so yeah, phone gaming aka poop time gaming.

Charming.

There is many games like it but they are developed that way (networking built in). Making a mod for an android game to add networking isn't the same as with PC. Also do some research for the company that developed it, and their budget compared to little to no budget for the PC MP clients.
-
I remember buying the GTA Vice City for android Samsung S3, and first off all the frame rate was awfull, talking like 15-20 fps. Secondly the handling and the controllers were annoying to use, and I felt that the whole thing was a waste of money.
I hope they have given more dedication in their mobile game this time, so the game will run smoother.
-
i told everyone this will happen last year.
-
Great!, i dont own a phone.
-

TheRock! Please respond! :D
EDIT: GTA SA requirements at the time of its release were Pentium 4, 384 MB RAM... I guess a dual core snapdragon with 512 MB ram would do then?

Heh; I was about to film GTA 3 & VC running on an Asus A500 two days ago, time ran out, I've upgraded the android, tested it and gave it back to the client before filming :3
I've had GTA 3 running on Xperia X8, Samsung G@laxy S1 (GT-I900) and currently my Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo V (MT11i / Haida).. Android: 4.3 JB Kernel: Dark Kernel BL: Unlocked, CPU: Overclocked from 1Ghz to 1,8 Ghz.
GTA VC I haven't tried on my current Neo V though...
GTA 3 needs Android Gingerbread (2.3) or higher, at least 1Ghz CPU and like 1GB for the game.. to run it smoothly (on low spec phones) you can just erase /music from Android/obb/GTA3 Rockstar folder.. and minimize graphic options!
It's sad that I wont be available to run GTA SA; but who knows.. I might have a better phone by the release :) And if not, I'll just play it on my friends brand new Nexus 5 :P

In addition to this, I have Xperia Arc S (also 2011 model, so same chipset, except same CPU is pushed to 1.4 GHz) and it was able to run GTA 3 without lag on 2.3.4 firmware. 4.0.4 just fails, never tried major gaming on JB (4.1 and forwards). Shall wait to see, what specs will GTASA have then. I bet it's minimum requirement will be either Android 4.0.3/4.0.4 or 4.1.
Though I just started to run some Android apps on my PC, so might see, how it works there.

What you on about, I'm running VC with everything on full very smoothly on my S3.

DA FUQ GUYZ, XPERIA 2011 OWNERS EVERYWHERE?
Xperia Ray here, same chipset as Arc, better than Neo V's I think. I'm rocking 4.0.4, you guys should try this ROM with LUPUS kernel!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1947420
Also now that we have CM 11 aka Android 4.4 aka KitKat which improves RAM management further I think my phone will be able to play it! :D
The only issue with our phones is the 512MB RAM :/
And oh I have my phone running at 364Mhz - 1.4Ghz with lulzactive governor and deadline as I/O scheduler.

Make it 1GB RAM and a dual core Snapdragon S4 / S400 / S600 / S800 clocked at at least 1.4Ghz and that should be enough to run it!
In short, Xperia L and Lumia 525 are the cheapest choices.

Uh, have it Performance - ROW and you'll see big change.
I also got VC to run even smoother than GTA 3.. FPS Meter was giving me average 35-45 which is quite good I can say! (On low sets, medium resolution though), I'll try Real Racing 3 in a bit, and film the performance tomorrow possibly!
-
It's going be awesome on my Ipad 4 or Samsung Galaxy S4 =)
-
Where is it? Did we get scammed or i just didn't notice anything? :S
-
It's on the App Store for iOS devices, I'm sure sure about Android though.
-
It is completely awesome. I've never thought that Rockstars are planning such a nice present for all of us. It would be nice to install the game on my Nexus 4 and iPad 4.
Also Vice City cannot be compared to San Andreas because of its awesomeness..!
I hope sometime in the future they will release the multiplayer for smartphones.
-

What about play store? I couldn't find it there.
-
It didn't come out for Android yet.
-
is like £5.00 the game on android
-

Damn.
-
If you haven't noticed yet, then GTA:SA has been released to many Android devices.

BlueStacks is crap. I use VirtualBox.

It was coming in a week as of Dec 13th.. Still no information. Anyway I doubt it would run on my 512 MB WP (:( !!!!!!) as Microsoft has only spared 140 MB of RAM for apps to run (so that other essential services run fluidly).
1 GB has around 250-300 MB of RAM for apps, so I guess it will work on 1 GB/2 GB.

And what with it?
