Nope, its not my problem, its their problem. I would love to see them dodge a car comming in 70 km/h towards them, on 1 wheel. And my my gas/brake pedals isnt effortless, I've saved a life using the brake pedal, a faggot on a motorbike to be exact.

Title: Re: Start saving for a supermoto
Post by: supermotard420 on November 29, 2013, 09:50:42 pm
A bike goes how fast u feel comfortable too ride it, believe it or not but when someone rides a superbike they will tend too ride it slower than a lower cc bike, as the lower cc bike is more forgiven and you can pinn it through corners, cant say the same about a big bike alot too think about, same goes with cars youll find someone will drive a v8 much faster than a scary v12, just because the vehicle is faster dont mean youll drive/ride it faster.

You're both wrong.

A real motorcyclist knows how vulnerable they are and takes necessary precautions, recognising the risk and minimising them. Ie, not being a faggot as Jack so kindly pointed out.

Secondly, not all motorcyclists are faggots, and the majority of crashes are 50/50 blame. Ie, the driver went without looking, and the rider put themself in the situation. However, in a large proportion cases, for example, a biker being "T-boned," the driver is 100% to blame.

To scared to take a slap? Would love to see you take a slap by my 1 and a half ton vehicle, and we could see who was the little girl?  Your arguments are retarded, lol. If you fail to see the fact that its gonna be their fault, and not mine theres something wrong with you.

Im not talking about other bikers or accidents now, I am talking about the people that drive like the ones in the movie he linked. Its not always a bikers fault, but if they drive like the ones in the movie, it is their fault, thats my point.
Title: Re: Start saving for a supermoto
Post by: supermotard420 on November 29, 2013, 09:55:21 pm
You're right joe it is mainly the driver too blame, you'd be surprised how much control you have over the bike, it's the width of your shoulders so you have way more chance of avoiding things, though obvisously when you do collide coming off the bike is inevitable so you're going too get hurt. I myself am not an anxious rider i know many riders are constantly on look out as you should be for oil, objects on the road etc, maybe ill learn my lesson one day that will make me more cautious :), it's there fault? doing a wheelie on a straight road?, what do you think bad can happen from this?, they come off and get run over if the person behind isnt within 2 second gap?

There's a difference between driving in a car and driving a car, just like there's a difference between riding on a bike and riding a bike.
It seems you have little to no experience of either transport methods by the looks of these posts and pointless arguments.

Jack all im saying when it comes too 'hitting' the bike, if you had a game of vehicle tag with one of these guys you wouldn't get close lol
I would get as close as I do to other normal traffic, not a single shit would be given. Who knows, maybe I need to overtake them and suddenly as I get back in the correct lane, a kid or an animal is passing the road as he is doing wheelies behind me? By the time he uses to get back on ground and slow down he is gonna be in my ass.
Title: Re: Start saving for a supermoto
Post by: Julio. on November 29, 2013, 10:04:00 pm
I personally am not a fan of any stunts on the road. I love lane splitting, and long twisting lanes, but popping wheelies have never been my thing. I've seen too many videos of bikers coming off, destroying the vehicle and hurting themselves.

I personally wear full protection, boots, textile jacket and trousers with padding, armoured gloves, decent helmet etc. The jacket has large patches of yellow material, high visibility, and the helmet is white. The entire way I dress is based on protection in the event of an accident, and making myself visible. Even so, I have had many times where people pull straight across into me, I've been ran into at junctions, and have knocked on loads of peoples windows when they pull into my lane. They say "I didn't see you." Yeah, right, you missed a guy on a noisy bike in high visibility gear...

I ride based on the fact all car drivers are trying to kill me. In my opinion this video you posted is natural selection at it's finest, ie, the most intelligent survive, the ones who do stunts like this don't.

We have a saying where I fly light aircraft. You have old pilots, and bold pilots. But never old bold pilots.

And this. Not that I have been in the traffic for a long time, neither do I have a lot of experience. But even before I got into traffic myself, I knew driving a bike like that is retarded and they are not gonna have much of a chance to dodge things comming surprisingly.

I've come off a few times on slippery surfaces, and one noob mistake of grabbing the front brake on a roundabout haven't collided with a vehicle 'yet', im dreading the day but i feel extremely aware and confident while riding and you do feeel invincible, but all it takes is that one fool too pull out past your breaking point and your down. I wear Rhok jeans with alpinestars padded jacket with carbon knuckle gloves, feel like a knight in shining armor in my gear lol :D

It's true, a good biker on a less powerful bike will ride rings round a bad biker on a big bike.

But a bad biker on any bike is going to be trouble. Most people are involved in an incident where they are injured in the first 6 months of riding, I've never been injured in 12 months, that means there must be someone putting the average up.... that's the bad riders.

Also, he was absolutely right about grasping the front brake being a noobie mistake, something non-riders wouldn't necessarily know ;D

My brother (joedaman633) did his full test (whatever it used to be called) before January 2013, so he could do it on a CG125! He's also limited for 2 years to 33bhp, at which point he can then ride anything he likes!  :strong:

You from the uk miniman because it's changed again now you can ride the full power gs500 at 47 bhp on the A2, Have no idea what bike too get when i get my full A license always want a supermoto because of the beauty of the ride, want a crotch rocket like a repsol fireblade 600 though :P

Yes, we're from the UK.

As it stands:

Aged 17 - Up to a 125cc (15bhp I think)
Aged 19 - Take another test on a bike up to 46.6bhp (or special dispensation such as GS500 or ER5), you can then ride a bike up to 46.6bhp
Aged 21 - If you have taken the test for up to 46.6bhp, and have held it for two years, you may take a test on a 600+ and be allowed to ride any motorcycle.
Aged 25 - Direct Access, no experience required.

Please note, under the new licencing system, no licence upgrades, the next exam must be taken. This is as of January 2013.

Oh right, 46.6 maybe im mistaken, but i know they let you ride the 47bhp gs500 so it mps dont bother them the extra 0.04 bhp lol, nice CR bro what's that a 125?, 250?
Title: Re: Start saving for a supermoto
Post by: Ben. on November 29, 2013, 10:56:52 pm
From the A2 test, it has to be below 46.4 but the bike may originally have up to double that power.
I.E. A restrictor kit may be used  :)

I was going too buy an aprilia rs 125 before when i was first getting into bikes, i guess it was the look of the bike which drew me in as doe smost young kids with the sport look, and i was shocked too find the restricted versions almost £1000 more than the 33bhp aprilias lol, I was thinking of restricting a 600 but just going too wait it out instead :D

It's just a 125 but very fast for it's engine size as it's got a pro circuit tuned exhaust and a number of other mods.

Will you guys stop going off-topic?

Back up on topic;

The very first experience I had with a bike (if you can call it haha) was Honda Z monkey 50cc
aka this one;
(http://www.midamericaauctions.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/honda-z50-k12-1-5765.jpg)

I loved that feeling, riding without using my feet to push me like a bicycle would..

Second bike I rode was my father's old Honda Cub90;
(https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/385673_10150788398401770_1418477768_n.jpg)

after that, I kept getting rides on my friends' ones... until my father bought Yamaha Crypton X 2 years ago, I instantly fall in love with it.
(https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-frc1/252187_10150237071471770_7236978_n.jpg)
or else (google pic of Special edition though)
(http://img59.imageshack.us/img59/8539/p8252830.jpg)
We didn't have it over 1 year and my father had an MVA with it, he still has trouble walking normally even after so long..

Few months later, I worked my ass off and bought my own, Yamaha Crypton R... spent a lot money on it, and finally sold it couple of months later.. this was it when I bought it;
(https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/s720x720/63093_10151130059761770_1544028692_n.jpg)
And here's one of the last pictures before I sell it..
(https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/965776_10151390264736770_323574142_o.jpg)

Afterwards, I took my dad's old Cub90 on my own hands, completely repairing it from 0..
(https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn2/1466302_10151685902551770_1041559311_n.jpg)

Anyways; my gear is some sort of Bering and Nolan Genesis N100 (http://baxevanismoto.com/admin/prod/images/silver-85-140211151853_0_l.jpg)..

My dream bike;

I hope I'll save up for it at Summer... next week I'm getting my 125cc and A1 (cars) license.. should be good :)
