Title: [RS5] A change of attitude - What can we do?
Post by: Leon. on December 05, 2013, 07:54:56 pm
With the two topics that have been plagued by negative attitudes, I figured I would attempt to make a topic that has the intention to get us somewhere. Everything in this topic is about RS5 and moving forward, and what we as a whole can do to aid in moving forward happening. I have my doubts this topic will go beyond 2 pages let alone 2 posts lolol, considering that my observations are telling me that people would rather keep on dragging their feet than dry their tears.
My dearest Sauron, please prove me wrong. :janek:

Some example points we should consider here:
-What can we, the not-developers and not-owners, do for the developers and owners to make this period easier on them?
-What problems will present themselves in our journey to bring RS5 to the plate, well-done and perfectly seasoned? I.e., What problems were presented, are presented, and will be presented?
-Where should our primary focus on the script be directed towards specifically?
-What are some things that may be considered wrong or a little off with the script, and how can we go about solving it?
-How will RS5 work overall (economy, criminal group relations, jobs, etc.) when put to the real test? (Real test meaning, activity similar to how it was before, and with "regularity" re-established)
-What are some of the goals the developers had in mind when scripting RS5, and how will achieving them go about?

RS4 is forever gone, with 99% certainty. Fighting for it is futile. We must stop focusing on the past and move forward, whatever it takes. I know that it sucks RS4 is gone and RS5 was put into place prematurely, but I am sure the ends will justify the means.
In order for that to be true, we have to be proactive and kick our ass into gear. The longer we piss about arguing, the longer it'll take for RS5's bugs to be worked out and to be made fully effective for us players. The owners and scripters have shown great fortitude by miraculously not giving up on us yet, even though they would have plenty of reasons to. The least we could do is not give up on them.

A few requests - no, not demands, not me attempting to limit who can post or what can be posted as if I had the power lolol - simply requests...
Let's keep it civil here, please - we're all in this together. Take the time to back up your points, don't expect everyone else to understand your reasoning without you stating it. Keep all RS4 discussion/nostalgia/analmoaning and "RS5 blows cocks" comments here (http://www.argonathrpg.eu/index.php?topic=102439.0) and/or here (http://www.argonathrpg.eu/index.php?topic=102015.0) - again, this topic is to go forward with RS5, since that is the only option we have, whether we choose to make it happen quickly or slowly. That doesn't go to say you can't say RS5 sucks - you'll just back it up, lest you make yourself appear as capable of reason as an insect.

"My observations are telling me that people would rather keep on dragging their feet than dry their tears"
"I anticipated such uselessness."

If you have such a low opinion of the Argonath community why are you still here? Is this some sort of elaborate troll post? As you said there is already two topics open on this subject.

RS5 Sucks!

   You suck !!

RS5 IS AWESOME !!  give a try to it

If you two are unable to have a logical conversation and are not able to backup your pointless statements I can always remove your ability to post seeing as you both are just here to cause more problems than good.

Baron if you post another message along those lines without actual evidence I will gladly remove your ability to post and your ability to join the server, stop with your petty screams of nonsense and find some actual facts.

Finally something that it's worth to read. This is what we all need to do, find a way to contribute to the RS5 server, to make it more likely; Keeping in mind that we still in the BETA Stage, we are having good chances to improve everything itself and make it suitable to everyone.

The new server is already awesome, it comes with alot of new and interesting features. What we all have to do is to stop looking back to the past, by this i mean that it's time to drop that moaning about RS4 since we all know that it's completely gone; Instead of wasting your time posting "gimme rs4, gimme my house and my drugs, rs5 sux" we should all together give our help to get RS5 completed and you will all see the difference. Afterall, they made all this for us, all the hardwork, the effort they putted on each feature, for goodness sakes it's even made with our suggestions, all to give us a better gameplay and to make SA:MP ArgonathRPG more enjoyable.
So please people, stop being like that and let's work together to get all the things done.

Slow down there, hot rod. No need to instantly try to derail this topic into something negative just because of silly delusions. I was referring to the antsy-pantsyness going on in the RS5 whine topics when I mention "dragging their feet," not the community. I refer to the fact that people find it far more easier and desirable to cry and mourn as long as possible.

When I say "uselessness," I refer to the fact that the other topics had near-instantly flooded with complaints and unhelpful comments the moment they were posted, while this one is only receiving a fraction of the attention of the others - two posts here are totally useless "contributions" to the topic, and that is why I said that.

By the way, I know the community enough to know how make an elaborate troll post, and I know enough to know how to make it be extremely effective. However, I do not really find any joy in doing that these days and find it pointless... unprovoked, that is.

The difference between the objective of this topic and what is going on in the other topics is that the other topics focus on the negatives, while this topic has the idea of trying to move forward ASAP so that we can get the worst out of the way.

Hoping for a response from a dev or anyone that is RS5-savvy that can set some foundation soon, since I hardly know anything about RS5 :x

I appreciate the effort Leon,

The best thing anyone can do is read about RS5, and get in the server and give it a go. If you don't like something, try thinking about it from a different perspective. If you still don't like it then think deeply about why, how you'd like to see it changed and how you think that change will be beneficial. If you can do that and give us feedback that'll help us more than anything in creating RS5 to be something that everyone can enjoy.
