Title: South Africa's Nelson Mandela dies

South Africa's first black president and anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela has died, South Africa's president says.

Mr Mandela, 95, led South Africa's transition from white-minority rule in the 1990s, after 27 years in prison.

He had been receiving intense home-based medical care for a lung infection after three months in hospital.

In a statement on South African national TV, Mr Zuma said Mr Mandela had "departed" and was at peace.

This man was a true inspiration to not only the people he led, but the people he helped during his life.
If he had a goal he would do everything he could to achieve the goal and more just to prove a point.
He was not afraid to stand up for the less fortunate and oppose the apartheid governments to prove a point and bring equal and fair rights to all South African citizens.

I am sure he has touched many more peoples hearts all around the world too with how he was and how he changed things;
always so humble in his statements, even when in prison. That's a true leader for you.

It's unfortunate that he has passed away but it's for the best, he has done so much for the nation and world and now he may rest in peace with the knowledge that he has fulfilled his dreams of a united country with equal rights for all no matter the race.

A true inspiration from a real leader.

He did what he could for this world, for his nation, for his people and for himself. He made the difference of what a leader is, more like the president he was a hero for his country, a man that never gave up on what he believed in is now gone, but his ideals will stays in the minds and souls of alot of people, forever. Rest in Peace Nelson Mandela "Madiba" a great man, great person, great human being.

Well said, I totally agree.

One great man with one great soul; an angel that came down to earth. He helped many people all around the world and has been an inspiration to many others.

It's too bad he passed away but we all do once in a lifetime and I guess it was his time to go. He will never be forgotten.
May you rest in peace, Nelson Mandela, you truly deserve it.

A man who sacrificed everything, including the little freedom he had for so many years fighting for what is right. He has had such an extraordinary impact on the world. His leadership, morals and beliefs are incomparable and the world will not see another man like him. I think everyone in the world from all ends can learn from this brilliant individual to make the world a better place. May he lay in peace now and may we be forever grateful the contributions he has made and the legacy he has created that'll live on for generations.

Done holding grudges? There is ONE Turkish newspaper, in fact ; one Turkish biased newspaper. Not as idiotic as  The Sun but as biased. They called him an ugly African.
