Title: /sb
Post by: Haythem on December 07, 2013, 11:05:23 am
Hello there,

Well, most of you knows that when an undercover agent/officer types that command, his badge will show up right ?
So wouldn't be better that when a player types that command a message shows up like " Player shows his badge. " and when he types it again to take his badge back into his pocket another messages shows up saying " Player hides his badge in his pocket ".
Discuss and dont go off topic please.

Well.. atm I think that the command is only available for FBI or something, as the fact that regular officers can't use it and neither can freecops [ While on duty, all cops were able to do that ].

As for the text itself.. it's okay by me that we have "shows his badge" text as we already had that earlier on..
It was displayed to others like "Officer Mihail showed his badge to Player"
and the display to that specific player went up as a green text in chat with info like "Badge of Sergeant Mihail Junkovich LCPD"

As for hiding it.. not necessary needed, as we can use /me hides his badge in his pocket :P

So you kind of mean a command, which will show the officers details to a player

So officer A shows player B his badge

(a list comes up with information about the officer, rank, name, department) something like that?

No no i didn't mean like that.
It's like when you type /sb it will look for the people around like you used /me shows his badge, and when you type it again it will look like you typed like this /me hides his badge. Simple as that.

So it will be more like a continous message which will affect an area?

Yes but a small area/zone , of course people who are close to the player who uses that command.

 So something like ," Hey Guys Im an FBI Agent and u better know it :P"

But seriously, why do you need something like that Im wondered, current script(which I havent seen though) should already display an auto message: Agent Player1 shows his badge to Player2.

Also a spamming command, no matter with what range can be annoying.

It doesn't need to be showed only to one player, it should be showed to everyone close to the player who used the command.
And sometimes players thinks that a UC cop/agent uses a different skin ( not a uniform ) and has a blue blip is kind of a bug, so when that message shows up they'll understand that he is a uc.
In addition, it can increase Roleplaying, i'll give you an example : a crime happened, a detective arrives to the crime scene where he finds alot of officers in that scene, so he would type /sb and a message shows up " Player shows his badge " , got it?

AH so it will just display to all and 1 time only "when u write the command" , you say... Well can be. But since not much people can show /sb, ppl around you will realize you re high rank even if they wont see ur badge but that you show your badge.

But gl with finding all officers in one place which is not after a suspect. :P

By the way, that decision should be done by FBI Commander and LCPD Chief I guess..

It's up to the developers.
