Title: Setting up High+ Gaming Rig, need help.
Post by: TiMoN on December 10, 2013, 03:49:50 pm
Ohai, considering we're approaching 2014, and mostly awesome next gen stuff will be released. I believe it's time to spend the I have been hiding for long.

I'm looking for good suggestions on an Extreme gaming rig, money isn't a problem.

Thanks!

Yep, I think he's looking for a decent next-gen PC, not one you can make a flight to the moon with, lol.

I suggest you customize your own PC, works out cheaper in most cases.

this is the PC gaming master race, we don't buy PCs that have the power of a retarded xbox one, there is a reason it's called PC master race.

I designed TeaM_Ethan's PC. This totalled £700 or so, really high specs for gaming.
Speak to him about his machine, if you're looking to spend under 1000 euro's so you can see what parts will fit around a suitable budget.

1400€ here and have one of the best PCs but..
if money is not a problem.. 15k for a fucking spaceship is pretty good if you ask me, I mean 4 HDDs and 4SDDs and 4 780Tis might seem a little bit excessive but
"money is not a problem"

You want extreme? I got you.

http://www.velocitymicro.com/

Very good support, too. And warranties. And all that jazz. Overall a good company. Whatever particular model you choose, you are free to configure its specifications however you please according to the options it gives you in the drop down menus.
Check these out.
http://www.velocitymicro.com/wizard.php?iid=75 - approximately $4,000 uncustomized.
http://www.velocitymicro.com/wizard.php?iid=205 - approximately $7,000 uncustomized. "This dual CPU system is optimized for Adobe Premiere Pro CS6, CAD, 3DS Max, and MATLAB."

Of course, there are more modest options that you can choose from. Look around and see what suits your needs.

You're wasting your money if you buy the highest spec money can buy. No matter whether money is no object, it's just stupid to buy 4 top end GPUs in SLI/Crossfire unless you're folding or using it as a workstation, number crunching etc.

Well that also depends on how long you want the system to be "top of the line" for, in a performance sense.

It will never be futureproof.

Exactly, for that sort of money you want something a bit more constructive than a PC, fuck, you can do a pilots licence for that less than that...

That's why I said "how long". :P

Exactly, for that sort of money you want something a bit more constructive than a PC, f**k, you can do a pilots licence for that less than that...
It is still the user's choice if they want to spend that much. Everyone should be helping to give him suggestions about a possible system, not questioning his intentions instead.
