Title: GTA: San Andreas on Android | Crash upon login
Post by: Mircea_Niko on December 31, 2013, 01:13:43 am
   Hi guys.

I have just met a serious problem with my Ga.la.xy (Sauron, stop replacing Ga.la.xy with Universe plz) S4, few days after finishing San Andreas.
When I had to login, everything went well to a point where cloud data process finished, black screen appeared and the application has stopped a.k.a crashed. Tried the same multiple times - crash. Tried offline mode, result - still crashing.
I followed all steps on the support forum of R*, yet NOTHING worked.
The game is bought, so no way of cracks and others. I have submitted several crash reports to R* aswell - no response <yet I hope>.
   Any ideas?

   Thanks in advance,
      Mircea.

Only suggestion would be to clear the data and cache in the applications settings then re-download the additional data. Your hardware is more than capable of handling the game, so other than that, I am not sure what the problem could be other than the application itself or that their cloud servers were not working properly.

Just got informed a bit and looks like the San Andreas for Android will be sooner or later a fail. What I mean is that at a point the app will stop working, just like the iFruit application for Android aswell. The disadvantage od Android users, oh well...

Force close can also occur, if there is not enough free RAM available. Try shutting down unnecessary background processes.

Wait, it autocorrects Universe?

Edit: WTF

An important thing I forgot to mention:

Despite the fact that the game data is in the SD card that has... 6 GB free, the application itself is installed on the Device. Is this influencing the crashes in some way or has nothing to do with it?
Also, my RAM is adequate, my Advanced Task Killer application working great.

This is a failure on the part of the game developers who do a crappy job porting out the game in a generic form to multiple OS and hardware versions from a single one, instead of releasing patches or updates to specific models with known issues and porting it from scratch. Just like with the PC ports in many cases, this is a cheap method to make the game compatible with other systems with little effort, time, and money. Sadly, most game companies will never learn from this because it is always about the next dollar.

It shouldn't have any influence on it as long as your system has enough free space for the cache, which I'm sure it probably does, else you'd be getting warnings from the OS about it.
