Title: New Headset
Post by: Matt Murdock on January 09, 2014, 06:19:04 pm
I'm looking to buy a headset with mic.

Budget is $20, can raise upto $50 max. The mic must be crystal clear as I need it for gaming and voice chat and already own a Sony headset for other purposes.

Any recommendations?

Actually been looking for a good headset for myself as well.
So far I've found this (http://www.tinydeal.com/-OVLENG-X10-Stereo-3-5mm-Headset-Game-Wire-Headphones-with-Microphone-Volume-Controlle-for-PC-Computer-Laptop-EEP-262191-p-113556.html?currency=EUR&gclid=CM232LXR8bsCFYlF3godtWsAPw). It's pretty cheap and the brand is unknown(?) so I'm not really sure about it yet.

Interested in seeing more suggestions.

First bought it at 2010 and it last till 2 days ago (I f**ked up the wires)
I just got the same one again today as it's extremely comfortable and the sound quality is perfect, both in music and gaming, it has very good bass and the price is very low for such a good headset (It costs like 32€ in my country.)

The microphone is decent as-well and detachable.

I'm a bit interested in this subject too, as my mic recently went out in my headset.

I doubt they make them in the price range the user is looking for, but does anyone have any experience with the Razer headsets?

http://www.amazon.com/GENIUS-GX-GAMING-Foldable-Headset-HS-G550/dp/B008EQ1G96

I have this one. Using it for around 6+ months now.
Works amazing. Microphone isn't the BEST, its average. But the sound quality and bass is pure amazing.
It vibrates my ears when i turn it on full.

I got it for $30 :)

How is it, comfort-wise?

Pretty OP.
Covers your full ear, but if you'er going to stay on it for maybe 5-6+ hours which I did once, the band over your head kinda feels uncomfortable.
Other than that, its nice :)

Ah. Not sure how the original poster feels about that, but I had one not long ago that killed my ears after an hour of wearing it. Comfort is important in my situation. All those long nights on TeamSpeak...hahaha.

ur not finding crystal clear quality for 50 bucks

you might want to look into a stand microphone or something for that price, quality will be better and you can use your other headset for sound

True.
Headset microphones aren't going to be the best. But I think mine one does the job xD

As GandalfJr tends to think of it as a toy you can pull out I use the cheapest one available... currently without mic until this one is destroyed as well...

Lol, in the UK we have "Poundland" stores, where, you've guessed it, everything costs 1GBP. They do the best value headsets I've seen!

In the U.S., we have various "99 Cent" and "Dollar"/"Dollar Tree" stores which are essentially the same idea. Sadly the most I've ever seen is crappy headphones that fall apart after a day of use.

Hmm, after a bit of research I've been thinking of saving up and buying this. :D I basically want it for Payday 2, to communicate with friends when robbing banks. xD

Anyone got any experience with this?

Kunal suggested me a similar one, for like $6 ^_^ :p

I've used this one fine previously (its $20 in INR)

Remember our skype calls James? :D Were they clear enough? :p

The cheapest Razer headset with mic here is like $60. But I don't really like heavy headsets as I use them for quite long periods, even the Sony ones I have are behind the neck.

So far, I've liked Trane's suggestion. As I've heard him on TS and gotta say, he's the best talker I've heard so far on TS.

Ah, yes, but 1GBP is 1.64USD, it's a slightly higher budget!

After sales tax where I am, it is usually around $1.07 out the door. Not much of one for us D:
