Title: Monitor problem(?)
Post by: KhornateMonkey on January 11, 2014, 09:27:11 pm
For quite a while now since I got my new PC, my monitor(which is a TV screen) has had these white lines across the screen, multiple of them. It has become really annoying recently and is starting to get on my nerves, any chance anyone could help me?

The problem comes and goes. On one day for example they are not there and stay that way for say a week, then come back and start again.

They only occur on games. Games such as GTA IV, World of Tanks and not on games such as GTA San Andreas.

They are more visible during the night time of a game rather than during the day when they are barely visible.

If they only occur when playing games, it is likely a resolution or related video settings issue. Make sure your other games have the proper settings selected.

Check if your new PC has detected the right monitor, if needed check the setting for frequency rather than adjusting the resolution.

The resolution within game has no affect on the lines.

Everything checked and correct

I'd go with Gandalfs suggestion, regardless of the recommended though, have you tried trial and error changes to see if 50Hz works better etc. Are you using HDMI, VGA or DVI, is there an alternative you can try to see if it removes the lines?
Do the lines flicker when you move the cable?
Is there another computer you can test it with?
