Title: YouTube Live Streaming
Post by: Matt Murdock on January 16, 2014, 08:14:39 am
So, I'm trying to figure out how to live stream games on YouTube. Can anybody provide a step by step walkthrough for it?

Also, any way to stream fullscreen on sites like twitch?

Can you even livestream on YouTube? I'm pretty sure you can't.

I think you can with Google+'s hangouts.

Just stream on Twitch. Nobody uses YouTube for that.

This.
Twitch actually has an option for you to cut up the livestream into 10 min videos and upload it on your channel, just use Twitch, it is the best things for gamers right now.

Exactly this. If you want the videos on your YouTube channel anyway, you can always see if Twitch will allow you to download the videos you streamed, and then you can upload them to YouTube manually.

Twitch enjoys being bitchy. Been streaming on it since a while now.

1) Can't stream if game is running full screen, so I must run the game in windowed mode.
2) Ads
3) No way to check stream, as it never shows up on my tablet, even when other users are able to see it(and sometimes aren't). So I can't really detect a problem when there's one.

Been through that already. Did all steps, but the problems I'm having are with software. Which program to use and how to configure it.

Everyone double posts now and then, it happens, get over it.

@ Kyle, for the twitch streaming, what streamer are you using and what settings. If you want I can fix the full screen thing for you
secondly, there is a solution for the ads :)
I also have a solution for your third issue, just skype me.

Aaaand double posting is prohibited as it encourages spam.
Herp Derp? As I remember double posts used to be merged before. Since when it became prohibited?

They weren't "disallowed" directly before because a mod automatically merged them for you.

You can. Just can't figure out how to set it up.
I've never personally tried it either, but I know of several channels and events, both big and small, that were broadcasted live using the streaming method. YouTube was actually pushing the feature pretty hard last year too.

Open Broadcast Software is good to use for streaming, will allow fullscreen, etc. plus it's free.
