What do you guys think about having "help" for the duty with stated things what can you do and when?
Let's say, when you type down /dutyhelp you get couple of more cmds with some plain text like:
- When to shoot via cmd "/wts" [ Or something like that ] in which it would be stated a list of basic situations when you are allowed to shoot:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
a. When suspect is evading after 2 warnings.
b. When suspect is not cooperating after 2 warnings.
c. When suspect is shooting on you.
In all the other situations do NOT shoot, just /cuff or investigate the suspect.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am not sure if it would be a good thing to have some of these basic procedures stated in game as a help.. what do you think?
-
Supported. That would probably help solving situations peacefuly. Also avoiding KillOnSight. :D

Supported :)

The problem with newcomers who arent sure what they are doing isn't that they dont have commands that tell them what to do step by step, the problem is they don't use what commands we already have for help and rules.
More commands won't solve the problem, getting them to use the commands we already have would be a nice start.

Text is forgettable easy, I'd say we could take this on our hands and as we appoint them to /duty procedure, everyone of us could easily say few words pretty much to sum up what they can do, commands and how to.
Ex; /R Usage, /m1-3, shooting rules etc. It only takes 2 mins though but if devs feel this is necessary, then sure yes.
--/dutyhelp--
1. To suspect someone you have to see them comit a crime, use /suspect <id>
2. Comunication is necessary with the rest officers, use /R <text> to talk with them.
3. few more..
--For more help and tips, /dutyhelp1-- (for extra lines)..

How about you people just show them how it's done? It's easier to force them to read some help pointers from a command.

It's very hard to make someone listen without using whip. :p
Seriously, it is hard. Most of people just don't care. Maybe they don't wish. Rarely they do..

We need an encyclopedia for that which should take lots of lines in order keep freecops from doing wrong. So instead of it, I think LCPD Officers+ gotta throw their laziness away(since there are as much ppl dunno what to do as ignorant people also) and start to light up the path to become a "proper, law-keeping officer". :gand:
Go get some new friends of yours in your vehicle and instead of roling around alone, doing nothing, meanwhile patrolling, explain them the basics of becoming an officer. Maybe you could attract more proper officers to LCPD too, who knows..
-
You guys do realize that it's not working that way? That is why I am suggesting this

Maybe because its only you who is trying to do so. :gand:
Anyway, if not that, nothing can help anyway >.<

I will speak to you in-game.

Maybe because a lot of regular players just doesn't want to help.
And if we can't help them, and you won't bring up the scripts to restrict them.. it's going to be fun 24/7

Who meant regulars, I meant officers who have dedicated their life for LCPD..
There is nothing restricting newcomer officers so it wont help in anyway cos unless you remove all elements and force him to read and behave things he read <like an admin freezes someone and till player accepts, he has no way to play anymore> , you ll never get what you want, well okay maybe 1 or 2 but going on duty and acting as a proper officer is not something easy.
There are basics / rules / commands / explainings of em etc too much things and no one will read it in anyway, even if they read they wont just get all or remember.. These are ppl who are even lazy to read /rules , I doubt they would read your Officer's guidebook and behave according to it.

If they don't read, they get punished.. the same as for disregarding rules.
The only thing is to offer them a chance to read somewhere in-game how to act as a cop.. and by that I mean just when to shoot and when to /su. Nothing else is needed.. and that is like 8 lines of short text
