Sue Gvardia suggested that maybe jobs should get a bit of limitations if a player does not have a passport. :)
So for example, if a player does not have a passport as a freecop he can not /su.. but he can still /jail and /cuff
After player receives passport [ The general confirmation that he "understands" the rules at least a bit ] then.. he can get access to some other commands :)
The newcomers will just get the limitation to some specific commands but will not get totally restricted to it.. they will just need to show that they do understand the rules in order to get access to the rest. Is that interfering with Argonath Vision? :)
Limitations suggested:
/duty - /su, police heli
/driver - heli
/fireman - heli

Yeah that's right, I agree with u
-
So basicly you just want them to register to our server, do nothing and leave? I have seen alot of people who has a passport who are useless at flying, using their /duty properly and /su. So I disagree to this
-
The general confirmation that he "understands" the rules at least a bit
Guess that those who do that and have a passport should be a bit more strictly punished as they did go through rules and whole complicated process of understanding them [ I know I did had a porcess like that ]
There is always a lot of players who do have a carkill or dm as a crime and are not reported or dealt by admin..
Also a lot of players with passports do go on duty and do /su occasionally..
So they will absolutely have no issues with "do nothing" part by my opinion

Interesting idea. I would agree mostly with limiting /su for Officers that do not have passport.
I wouldn't give fictive examples like: "How it would be" if anything was implemented.
/supported /su for Officers that do not have passport.

its a good idea becuse some new cops su me and jailed me for nothing like a boy called NORI omg he supspected me for lukyluke xD

"Argonath gives equal rights to new, experienced and admin players. We do not discriminate between players". Argonath Vision
If I was a new player, I would not want to be limited due to the fact that I do not have a passport. I would think that the server sucks and eventually leave.

Hi,
I don't want to play the annoying guy part but this completely goes against the Argonath Vision and the principles the community is based on.
Furthermore this was previously deeply discussed and rejected for the same reason.

No any objections on your facts guys.. I did stated the same thing above as I am aware that any kind of limitations around that is probably.. interfering with Argonath Vision.
But I still can't stop to wonder.. if that kind of limitation affects the Argonath Vision that much. I mean that you can not /su but you can still be a cop?
Isn't that "kinda" the same as the fact that i.e. LCPD Officers can do the /cs and freecops can't?

I really wonder how people say something like this is against argo vision but when its about buying property and cars, it requires passport and license, can someone explain me this to me?

Good thinking Talya.

It's simple. Those you want to limitate are essential commands. Buying a car/house isn't essential and it requires experience.

Can you tell me why freecops dont get essential commands like /cs /uc then also? [Counting /uc as a command for rp ofc, its limiting cops...]

Because they are not essential / would be object of abuse.

Its just too senseless that u dont cathegorize /su and /uc together...
Oh so /su is not an object of abuse, okay. :pissed: Im not expecting a full day fbi to understand me anyway.

We will lock down all commands to prevent abuse then

okay.. try at least to lock the heli from them as it is totally not needed for them and it sure does need at least a bit of understanding of rules to use it :|

That idea has been denied sooooooooooo many times.

Well were talking on /su here cos its affecting people without their willing. So its a command which starts trouble and anger when used by our unexperienced officers. And then poor citizens of LC end up visiting investigation room 5 times once a day.
-
Either give them limitation or give them a gui through which they must pass.. or start giving a bit more punishments for all who misbehave :|
-
GUIs are not healthy.
-
well talk about abuse the new players that dont have a passport abuse the /su i agree with others on this command should be not till they have a passport

As nice as this idea is, it's also quite discriminating towards new players. As someone said before, imagine a new guy joining and getting told he must play for a week before he can do his favourite job. I wouldn't come again, would you?
On the other hand, waiting for a week isn't so bad for the ones who are actually interested in doing the police job properly, so this could become some kind of filter... Uh.
But what would this waiting and taking a test solve? We all know cops with passports who still abuse their rights, even though they should understand that they can't. So in theory, we would have 7 days of peace from possible abuses from new players and then, they would start coming in "waves" (:D).
Of course, it has an upside side too... We all know server hoppers who just come during night and suspect people for "7ass" when there is no one to unsuspect them and deal with this guy. So this would be nice prevention against such cases.
At the beggining of the post I was determined to say "no"... I wonder how I ended up writing upsides and downsides... But anyway, my "no" stands - it goes too far against the Vision, even though it has some upsides.

Kerbe

I dont agree fully with this topic BUT have the new guys do a test simmilar to the license about when to use su and things like that or start a police academy like some1 else posted that was a great idea
