Babylonian Deity - Buhguul (Bugul)

Demonic abilities:
- Life in Imagery: Bughuul exists in various forms of art, namely pictures and film. He can emerge from such material and take persons from the real world into the images.

     Ex. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ff_dyIAi0ME

History:
Living within art, early Christians destroyed nearly any trace of the demon for the fear he could use the images to enter the real world. What little survived of the imagery became so obscure that very few knew of the creature. However, in modern times, Bughuul discovered a new way to exist: film. Beginning in the 1960’s, he restarted his legend. Family after family was killed and a child from each taken, their only link being each lived in the former’s house before moving.

I know this is from a movie, but continue reading.

Real demon resembling the one depicted in Horror movie "Sinister"

Abyzou

Demonic "Duty":
- Abyzou was blamed for miscarriages and infant mortality and was said to be motivated by envy, as she herself was infertile.

Ex. (Picture above)

History:
In the Septuagint, the Greek version of the Hebrew scriptures, the word Abyssos is treated as a noun of feminine grammatical gender, even though Greek nouns ending in -os are typically masculine. Abyssos is equivalent in meaning to Mesopotamian Abzu as the dark chaotic sea before Creation. The word also appears in the Christian scriptures, occurring six times in the Book of Revelation, where it is conventionally translated not as “the deep” but as “the bottomless pit” of Hell. Barb argues that in essence the Sumerian Abzu is the “grandmother” of the Christian Devil.

I know it kinda seems lame, but I for one happen to believe in such "Deities". Just curious if anyone else thinks the same way. If you do feel the same way, feel free to post the "deities" you believe in, like mine. I'm interested in learning about this stuff. If you don't, feel free to explain why not. I'm curious to hear peoples opinions on this.

Demons and ghosts aren't fun really, especially not if you can see/feel them. I've had a girlfriend who had her house haunted by one, they scare the shit out of you. Try not to get too involved  :janek:
