Here is something I think it would be cool:
You know how in some street racing games (like Need for Speed) there are those neat chase screen effects of flashy red/blue lights?! So, why dont use UI to bring this up to the server? Like the weed color effect, but faster and more subtle.
It would be shown to both cops (when chasing a suspect) and suspects (when being chased by a cop), and its not something really hard to do from a development point of view, since it can just use the same script used to determine if the cop is close to the suspect in /rhl. And its just a little detail that (at least for me) would increase the sense of imersion in police pursuits! :)
-
What if all suspects and cops starts going like crazy people and crash over all for thay effect?
I see most of suspects going over cars and card without that effect , imagine with it and cops too..it would be horrible for me. All what suspects and cops need is skill, no such effects , by my point of view :)

With a toggle feature, I dont see any reason not to support, its confusing and non understandable whether u re in cop's range for /rhl or not.. Also , a nice way to show it, and a nice visual it would create.. But colors and the timing of color change should be done in a careful way.
-
I don't know if it really needs colors. It could be added near the "fuel" and "speed" thing... I don't know how should that be named but when it's safe (not in cop's range), show "safe" and when you are in cop's range "run" or something like that... Anyway supported.

I agree more on this.
supported for ^

It is not needed, though would look cool in my opinion. If it hadnt been for showing if u re in /rhl range, I wouldnt support it. Though I would like to see this, it brings a good feature and a nice visual. :P

That would be better IMO

Yea, that was my first idea... but I came up with this color thingy because it would show both cops and suspects that they are in a chase and the /rhl isnt going down. What you said would show only the suspect. Plus, the flashy lights, as I said, would increase imersion and it would make it look like there is actually a hot pursuit going on.
Another nice thing would be if the effect doesnt show only to the cops and suspects, but to whoever is close to the chase (civilians)... this would encourage them to leave the chase and let the cops to their work! :cop:

If the colors are flashing it might distract the cops and suspects and go over every player. If other players close to the chase have those colors they might not just leave the area to make space for cops to drive.... They might get in the chase too and get suspected for "interfering with police chase".

Arent sirens enough to tell people nearby that a chase is going on? :P
Plus, I think for some people (including me) the flashing colours could be quite disturbing, as you have to focus on the road....again, IMO.

People who are interfering, no matter what will be aware of what they re doing.. Though I dont think we need this for civilians, I didnt notice this was also including cops anyway.. Well as long as there is a toggle option, everything must be fine.

I don't think you guys are understanding just how subtle this effect would be. What I'm proposing is not a disturbing flashy red/blue thingy that will just distract and make everyone blind like the weed effect. No. I'm proposing something really really transparent, like 8% of transparency value. Here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NWspNOGR7c
Just look at the effect on the beggining of the video when the guy is close to the cops, look at the corners of the screen, thats the thing I'm proposing... and at least for me that wouldnt be disturbing at all. And it looks really nice!

Oohh, when u say it is like weed's effect, I also thought a complete screen would be like that. Well this one is, I dont think its possible to make an effect like that.

<video>
Why don't just go play that game?

but it is possible using the UI functions of IV:MP... by adding squares that goes decreasing alpha values gradually on every corner of the screen, and making them alternate color from blue to red and stuff... it would look just as cool! :)

If it is possible, then why not? :)

I dont know , though I supported this because it would use the weed thing, though now Im not sure cos we gotta be careful and avoid about things that would decrease stability.. Crashes are not good :P

But it does use the weed thing, just in a different way... and in my experience, I dont see how that would decrease stability if done correctly. It's just a cool little detail, not a whole new system or anything.
