Title: GTA V Issue
Post by: Luke on March 30, 2014, 12:10:52 am
Hey Guys;

Im having a issue with my Grand Theft Auto IV, what it is is that when I drive ingame my game becomes very choppy, also the response time of my mouse is very slow, my specification meets the games recommend specification but I still cannot run it decent. I also have heard about the "commandline.txt" document, that can configure it? (I have read up on it but im not good with configuring things like that)

If anyone could help me that would be great!

Specs:

My GPU is the Radeon 6670 1GB DDR5 OC Edition

AFAIK the "commandline.txd" is a fix when you can't change your graphics ingame (correct me if I'm wrong).

You might want to consider closing background applications whilst running your game. Not sure if will help though.

Which HD 6670 you have, GDDR3 or GDDR5 one? I have the faster one (GDDR5), though GTA IV still lags at maximum settings as well.

For more commandline information, this is a good guide - http://gtaforums.com/topic/382923-how-to-use-command-line-parameters/

When I find my GTA IV directory, I can check, what settings I have there at the moment.

EDIT: Apparently, I had used some commands for shortcut (works same way), however do not have the file anymore. If I recall correctly, I used -nomemrestrict, though -memrestrict with a certain amount of memory set is more stable and recommended.
