Apple is reportedly in talks to purchase Beats Electronics for $3.2 Billion.
Dr. Dre recently surpassed Jay Z as the second richest rapper in the game, and it looks as though he could take the throne from Diddy if Apple successfully buys him out of Beats Electronics.
While the company is currently valued at $1 billion (after a recent $500 million investment from Carlyle), Apple is apparently offering $3.2 Billion for the Dre and Iovine's brand, which includes both the successful headphone line, and the recently launched Beats Music service.
It may be too big of an offer to refuse, and would be the largest ever acquisition for Apple, who have never paid more than 1 billion for a company.
Now, it appears he’s hip hop’s first true acquisition billionaire. It’s being reported that Apple is acquiring Beats Electronics for $3.2 billion.
Last night, when the deal was first reported, a very excited Tyrese Gibson was hanging out with Dre and a bunch of other pals, drinking from red Solo Cups and generally freaking out about where Dre belongs on Forbes’ list after the money he just made.
In addition to being hip hop’s first billionaire, Dr. Dre would become the first black male billionaire in US history.
Will Beats’ dominance of the headphone market continue, or will Dr. Dre get the deal of a lifetime from Apple?

Actually apple doesn't seem to be interested in his music or his headphones. They were already buying Headphones from Beats and made a good profit, the deal wouldn't give them enough profit to justify the purchase.
What apple really seems to be interested in is the patents. Beats has some big patents on sound manipulation technology which apple would really benefit in integrating with the iPod. Along with this the music streaming service operated by beats would be integrated into iTunes, allowing apple to pretty much compensate on their recent losses on the iTunes market.

Yeah, and I hope Apple takes care of Beats Audio and not destorying it. Because I love Beats Audio, good sound. =)
