Hi,
For two days now there have been no person doing medic roleplay.
What is up with the lack of Medics?
Why is there no medics?
Me thinks Medics are vital role that needs to be encouraged / not discouraged.
-
Could be that players don't know how to roleplay as a medic, it does require some basic knowledge. Most of the roleplay's I've been in involving medics have been subpar.
Job is made slightly redundant by the use of food stores, since you have to go to the hospital to heal fully most would class it as a waste of time.
You know you could always go on medic duty, lead by example and all that.
-
Problem: The Medic Duty is not so useful.
Solution/Idea: When you get into a shootout or something of the sort, you die instantly and you spawn and lose everything. What if there was a different system? When you lose all HP, you are given a choice to either 1. Spawn at Random/Job/Home etc, or to wait for a medic. If the player selects medic, whoever is on medic duty will be informed of the situation and will go to the player and revive them, and they will have all weapons etc, but they will spawn with 5 hp or so, and they have to go to a place to regain health. This will raise the amount of medics, the importance of the job, expand RP and more money to medics. Credits given to Pablo Escobar for idea :D

I used to roleplay a DR with the Mad scientist skin.
can't do that anymore.. it was removed.
I used to specialise in Sexual health and penis removal / sex changes....
I am no common paramedic.
-
There's a severe lack of Paramedics because of the following reasons:
1. Ambulances don't do shit, and no one likes it having to take the injured person to the hospital.
2. Doctor Skin (White hair + lab coat) got removed.
3. Most don't want to roleplay.
4. Why get a medic, when you can just simply go to a restaurant and get a supersize meal to refill all of your health?
Some of the possible fixes that I'd like to see to try to get paramedics more business is:
1. Increase the amount of health received in ambulance from /heal to max. just like in RS4. As well as get rid of the whole "Enter hospitals to heal to max" script thing.
2. Increase the food prices by double.

gotta agree with him - thats just like the pns and the mechanics. if you'd increase the price of the /buypizza people would actually start thinking about medics

I joined this server to be medic, no one wanted to be healed or rp with me so I killed everyone :war:
Anyway, why would one be medic on freeroam server where you can respawn for free?
-
freeroam server
lol

Why get in an ambulance and goto a hospital just to get healed up full when you can goto an out-of-stock business and replenish health that way. The plan to make medics not be able to heal up fully and their lack of reward and notification for fire missions has systematically made the medic job.. well... useless. The only use of a medic is to cure addiction.
-
And the SAPD is teaching Probationary Officers (Senior Officer later) some basic medical stuff, which is another minus for the medic job.
On the other side, the medic job is really useful during roleplays. I've needed a medic several times while RPing, mostly as an officer, with an injuried suspect who is arrested, but unfortunately there are no medics online.
Creativity is the key.

That'll solve RP system and Medic duty

Clearly it's give or take...
Medic to cure an addiction doesn't seem the best of ideas
Medics should get cheaper /ad so they can do stuff like "Drug Addiction Rehabiliation Mobile Ambualnce Pershing SQ".
Or make food for energy and Medics for health.
Food can heal only upto a certain ammount, 2hp?
I Mean food to heal is a bad idea... it teaches the kids that the more you eat, the stronger you get, which is wrong, you just get fat and get softer bones due to malnutrition most of the times.
-
Another solution could be to dim down the food system; or alter it so eating to much can make you sick (tho might be a bit to much like the sims or some crap). There has to be a balance between the two; if we favor medics then businesses which sell food are less profitable. If we favor food then medics become essentially irrelevant.
There are very few sadly who are willing to do a nice long medical RP; and as mentioned you do need a general idea of medical procedure to do a medic rp "properly" but that is ofc assuming you wanna be a traditional medic and not some psychopath ;)

Enforce SAPD system into medics and firemen.
Join firemen and medics into one - SAFD.
Put active leaders into the position as current ones aren't active and aren't doing their jobs actively, enforce that no firemen is growing weed, using civilian vehicles and is driving properly according to traffic laws and regulations.
Enforce set of regulations and rules to follow, such as - don't use sirens for no reason, follow traffic laws, growing weed is illegal, co-operate with other firemen...
Those who graduate to probationary firemen/paramedic will be required to respond to 911 calls of injured persons or vehicle accidents, which would increase RP.
Also, add /firedutyban on those who are on duty just to gain free money by doing nothing else except spraying on fire and not to roleplay and follow the SAFD regulations (like driving in private vehicle, failing to follow traffic laws, growing weed).
SAPD doesn't allow trolling, why should SAFD?
All I see is firemen driving around in private vehicles, breaking traffic laws, growing weed and not doing anything else other than freeroaming until siren goes on and then they go to the scene with ramming, racing and then they kill eachother just to gain more money by taking out more fires.
Nobody bothers to respond to 911 calls or requests via /e by SAPD.

I do /me injects him with healing potion or use black magic to heal.
Or i put a leech on the lads injury and ask him to urinate on his injury.
It's good old fashion medieval medicine.
Or if he's too much to heal i throw him off a bridge, sedated ofc, humane is best.

It's simple, make energy system or more diseases for medics.
-
If we implemented "energy" this would be one hell of survival game that I think would drive people away further; I mean just think of the moaning topics of people with no money dying from thrust or starvation. It wouldn't be pretty. Personally.. I don't have anything against it.. I love the concept but at the same time I understand the general mindset of the community and the shitstorms that would follow.

Do it, I can setup a soup kitchen = D.
Lack of energy should just mean you can't run that's all, and you can't get higher than 75%health.
We don't need to bring starvation into it.

No god, dont start turing this game into a goddamn simulator with diseases and torch batteries, please no.
