Title: Economy: Mobile Banking Discussion
Post by: Teddy on July 22, 2014, 07:50:56 am
I figured before working on mobile banking directly for the economy, I would focus on helping fix issues related to the economy (like trucking) of the server rather than adding something new. However in the mean time I'd like to collect input on how mobile banking should work in our current economy.

Typically mobile banking is included for free, some banks do charge a subscription. I'd opt for a free, or "one-time fee" (since the bank does need to make money).

Withdrawing and depositing mobile are absolutely out of the question. What about transferring between accounts, /transfer (between owned  accounts) and /wire (other accounts). Should there be a fee for using mobile to transfer funds, or wire funds.

What other features should mobile banking include?

I hope the positive discussion here can help shape this into something everyone can enjoy and understand.

- For the "fee" i think it should be a small percent of the amount you use. (Kinda goes wherever that stuff would go). Like if you wire/transfer $5,000, then $5,250 would be taken from the account. That's just a 5% example.

- Another thing, Idk if it's still around as I don't own a business, but stocking your business(If that's even a thing anymore), paying your rent, etc?

Mobile banking, makes me think of securicar trasnfering amounts of money around the banks and ATMs, the vehicle itself has more than 1k hp and people can steal it and take it to specific location and take it's money.

That's a plan I've had.. for later ;)

When I say mobile banking I mean banking via a cell phone.

What about limiting the wire to 500k? If people want to transfer bigger amount of money, they must hire a securicar?

There isn't really much else than:
- Checking your balance
- Account -> Account transfers
- Payments using your bank account(NFC payment like Google Wallet for instance...?)

isn't there?

Phone is already bugged / flawed.
The bugs there need ot be fixed first before adding stuff.

Get 3 calls, have to hang up all of them, there can't be a way to say "Sorry, this person is currently recievng a call" or sometimes you get called, answer and its talking in /p.

I don't think it's needed.

Could add a text storage tho, so you get texts and you have to open to read it,  say maximum 10 texts in the inbox.

And the phone will receive a text from the bank every 2 days with your balance, etc.

A nice addition would be to add a statement. This will record all transactions that a player does. This is so that people can manage their money better etc. Here is an example

Date Time Where                   How much
25/07 14:03 LS Market Ammu   $3000
22/02 07:43 Angel Pine Chicken $200

Note that if you use your phone to access the statement, it only goes back a week. However if you go to the bank and access your statement, you can see everything from day one.
