The press here in the UK have started whipping up fear amongst the public that we are all going to get Ebola and die. Although the government says that we are well prepared should any crisis arise.

Looks like they are struggling to contain it..

According to the official WHO report, they're looking at 20,000 cases by 6 months (I honestly think this is bullshit). The virus is spreading so fast they're having an extremely difficult time containing it.

What We're Afraid to Say About Ebola (http://www.nytimes.com/2014/09/12/opinion/what-were-afraid-to-say-about-ebola.html)

Now, this may look like someone's opinion.. but this person happens to be the director of the Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy at the University of Minnesota.

Radical temporary measures are required such as banning travel to certain areas or even banning travel completely until the virus is contained sufficiently so it will not spread.

Right now Sierra Leone's attempting to do a 3-day shutdown, with 30,000 volunteers combing through the population to find infected & educate others. Already there are reports of citizens disobeying the shutdown, and I doubt it's going to work.

A month ago, Liberia had orders to shoot on sight (http://www.skynews.com.au/news/world/africa/2014/08/18/shoot-on-sight-order-in-ebola-wary-liberia.html) anyone trying to illegally cross the border from neighbouring Sierra Leone who shut its border a while ago.

If you really want to get radical, you're going to have to perform city-wide quarantines like those you see in movies to even make an impact on stopping the spread.
