Recenlty my old monitor decided to go wonky and the power source went poof, now I got a pretty similar monitor, bit smaller ( Samsung SyncMaster ) till I get the other one fixed. The issue I'm having however, I can only run GTA IV/ IVMP only on 800 x 600 ( 56 hz ) despite the monitor can handle more then that  . If therés an suggestion regarding how to make the screen resolution in game higher, it would be apreciated.

Are you able to change all other graphic settings?
-
are you having no restrictions commandline or something?
-
create a commandline.txt then add following:
-width 1280
-height 800
You can change the numbers to desired resolution , put the commandline into GTA IV Main folder , game might still show 800x600 in settings but it should start up in the resolution u put in commandline .
Cheers

It's partially working, will try more out of it and see what happens!

then make a text document in the main folder of GTA IV ( with Launch gta iv and stuff) and then name it commandline and write this in it -norestrcitions , -width 1280
-height 800
it might work :)
Kind Regards,
