Title: SAMP problem.
Post by: RETWY on August 21, 2014, 12:30:33 am
When I try to join the server it shows 0/0 people are playing and the server has 9999 ping. Is this just me or did the server get hacked too? If it is me what can I do to fix this problem?

im waitn all the day

Good evening,
I know it's a long while after this incident, but here now finally a short information
about my current knowledge of the situation.

On Wednesday morning both Argonath Main Machines been attacked. The result
of this is, I suppose, known for everyone. Several password-hashes of high ranked
community members has been revealed.
This also includes Tandtrollet (IV Leader). As IcyAero, nor me appeared in that list
we suppose this attack was mainly directed to SA:MP as Tandtrollet is Manager there.

Due to the security breach ALL ARGONATH SERVICES, also our IV:MP server been
shut down to avoid further damage.

Which will stay down until further notice. But I can already make you happy, it won't
be for too long. We planned to bring the server back up within the next 48 hours.
(We be back for weekend)

Once we are ready to re-open you get a introduction about how to gain your new
password for the Argonath IV:MP server. Admins may contact me then, as I got to
activate the ability to regain it for the first time.
Accounts that won't be reactivated during the next 3 months will be archived/deleted.
That means from day X when we reopen you got 3 months to activate your account,
if not it's gone.

And for those who worry about your accounts: Good news, no data was lost nor
damaged. You will continue playing from the moment you last logged out.

Kind regards,
IV Leader [R*]Tai/Frodo

Wait a little more then. It will be up within 48 hours.

Tai's estimation to IV:MP being online once again does not necessarily relate to the time it will take for SA:MP to be returned to service.

Indeed

If en when the SA:MP server and other services/servers come online we don't know yet, but if we do you will be notified.

May I ask why there is a difference in the time it'll take? I have almost zero knowledge about such things, but still would like to know the difference between SAMP and IVMP in a simple and understandable reason if possible.

the hacking attack was on SAMP not IVMP , IVMP has been shut down to avoid any attack on it.(As i know)
whoever tried to hack SAMP,he might not be interested in hacking IVMP

IV:MP may take less time once they (IV:MP team) are sure there is no more active threat; SA:MP may take more time as we, the developers, Gandalf, and HQ attempt to determine exactly what happened. I will also say, since as users you have the right to know, we are upgrading security measures to further protect the integrity of the data we store.

In terms of what I said, some or most may have already been done or already be in-progress but I cannot confirm that much. That is for an official statement from Gandalf to disclose.

Sorry for any inconveniences this may have caused.
