Title: How to use Six Axis (PS3 Controller) in PC games
Post by: iKlipse on December 14, 2007, 01:26:11 am
A lot of people have asked me how I play Vice City and San Andreas on the PC using the PlayStation 3 controller, heres how I do it.
Here, I've written up this easy to navigate tutorial but the software isn't mine, just follow the steps and you'll be able to use it.

1. Connect your PS3 Six axis controller to your computer with the USB cable given
2. Click here (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MCM597M1) and download this file I uploaded
3. Unzip the file
4. Open:  'ps3sixaxis_en'             It will open and close automatically
5. Hold down the PlayStation logo button in the center of your controller for 5 seconds.
6. Go to your Control Panel then into Game Controllers, if your PS3 controller is recognized there, your good to go, if it isn't... Try reconnecting it.
7. Open up a game and set your control setup to Joypad then configure them using the controller, then play.

If it doesn't work the first time, try re-connecting then start it again from step 4.

Enjoy the game using the PS3 controller :)

The top right of the page next to the Mega Upload Banner. its an orange button that says download. In the text box to the left of it just type in the randomized letters that are shown.

By the way, if you are using a Joypad, you automatically get auto-aim, which sucks major arse. It just means everyone shoots you easier, so leave the settings on mouse and keyboard but use the joypad anyway.

It works.

Is there a thing download to make your Xbox360 controller work?

It works.

+1 you get shot really easy even if people were not directly aiming at you, and you die in like 3 shots, then your aim locks on to someone and its completely useless and people think your hacking.

I use joypad but on mouse+keyboard settings its much much better like that.

Make sure your controller is properly connected in the usb slot in both the controller and the PC.

Another thing, check the controller in; Control Panel/ Game Controllers. If anything odd is there try and fix that. I don't know what would be odd because I got it perfect on the first go.

When you want to play the controller in game in San Andreas just go to controls then switch it to Joypad, configure your controlls and it should work. Just make sure 'Invert axis' is off.

That's just down to preference.

Don't switch the controls to the joypad setting, it gives you auto aim and you WILL die.

That has nothing to do with this thread.

This is about using the PS3 controller on your computer to play games like VC and San Andreas.
