Title: Banners
Post by: Sweeper on December 11, 2014, 12:35:57 pm
Is it possible to disable those huge annoying banners at the top of the page? If not, make it possible or remove them please.

EDIT: Or an option to hide.

Which banners? The server board ones, or the advertisement ones?

Get AdBlock plus :)

You can block the advertisements and the server boards.

Just right click "Block element"

Server board ones.

Server board ones.
Try Teddy's solution. As for native methods, there are currently none built into the forum.

The wonders of search engines like Google.
Title: Server Banners(Hide)
Post by: Kostas on December 23, 2014, 05:45:44 pm
Well they are indeed nice, but these are the three problems I find.
First of all in smaller screens, like my laptop's they have to use two "lines" unlike my PC where they perfectly fit in a single line.
Many people simply don't use them, like me. I'm used to how the forum was, and getting to where I want the old way is actually easier for me.
Slower loading time. Well even though it may be minor, it still is a fact, especially in slow PCs.

I do not want them removed, as they are a pretty cool feature. I just want to be abled to hide them.

Topics merged.

I believe Traser was looking into a way to hide them. As for the issues with smaller screens, it is caused by the images not scaling properly, which is a matter of modifying the code to resolve.

Well this topic seemed to walk more toward the advertishments than the Server Banners, that's why I made a new one. Proper scalling is something actually needed, but I'd rather see the possibility of hiding them first.

I made this topic for the banners, not the advertisements.

And as DuelistKing says; who's even using them.

Glad to hear this.

I suppose it's almost done?

I find that if your resolution is lower the 1920x1080 you have a issue with the banners, thus they are mostly for 1920 and above.
