Hey folks. I'd like to get the community opinion on stingers.
Quote

A spike strip (also known as traffic spikes, tire shredders, one-way traffic treadles, stingers, stop sticks, a stinger in police slang, and formally known as a tire deflation device) is a device used to impede or stop the movement of wheeled vehicles by puncturing their tires. Generally, the strip is composed of a collection of 35 to 75 mm (1.5 to 3 inches) long metal barbs, teeth or spikes pointing upward. The barbs are designed to puncture and flatten tires when a vehicle is driven over them. The barbs may be hollow or solid. Hollow barbs are designed to become embedded in the tires and allow air to escape at a steady pace in an attempt to reduce the risk of the driver crashing into oncoming traffic or the surroundings. It was co-invented by Donald Kilgrow, a retired Utah Highway Patrol trooper, along with a design engineer.[1]

I do not think the client supports this, it already crashes too much.

Awesome idea, a lot of samp servers use this and I wish argo use it too. Like only high ranked could use this.

This is IV:MP, plus the game itself doesn't have a stinger model. Not to add the client itself is not the best, plus the vehicle wheels never get damaged, even with a RPG-7.

Impossible to be done in IV:MP, unless you have access to the source code and developed it further yourself.

What should be done is to allow officers to place barriers. (Have to be nearby a stockade)

ARA exists fora reason.

Want a road block, contact a ARA employee *admin+*

Also, this is impossible for current client.

I think Senior Officers+ should be able to place a barrier. It isn't an admin job to place barriers during pursuits.

Many admins are ranked officers, just call them, and yeah its not admin job its ARA job.

I would be more then willing to assist in placing road blocks if needed.

And i'm sure that opinion is similar with all admins.

Yes,  but most of the time,  admins are too busy for setting up road blocks for cops. Sometimes cops need it to stop a criminal by placing them at the end of where they are headed (i.e bridge).  By the time cops try to contact ARA staff/employees,  the suspect will be long gone. I'm not saying cops should be able to place them, but it's just the POV from a non ARA/staff member.

Could be possible to script this, I can already see it.
On command place object that could act as a stinger (since SA:MP uses object that left in SA from VC but was never used) or few od them. If the car passes tire health == 0 on all 4. Easy to script, but I am not sure if this will be a good idea:
-Possible "moment lagg for server"
-Possible crash on impact
But Warnings and errors never stopped me from testing, I might even script this my self for a home-server and see if it works well.

Or stingers could drop fire on wheels so they explodes later on.
Unfortunately another person who wasnt in sight could drive it all ok again.

no coz of obvious reasons

Then state the reasons, so I know why you have answered so.
