so after checking my pc i saw that i could overclock it. but it have some risk
so here my pc spec
processor: AMD E-300 DUAL CORE
memory: 4GB DDR3 memory
and abt 1.6ghz
so i wanna know if it will kill my pc
-
Not worth overclocking that at all. Especially not on a notebook.
-
but then wat should i do ?? :rage:

well , its not a portable pc , its a home one if u know wag i mean

Pray for your laptop if you're gonna overclock it :S.. Highly not suggested.

Which game are you talking about? I'm posting this from a 1.2ghz 1gb DDR2 lap and it can run GTA SA and MC just fine (Well, slight overheating but a 5$ cooler fixes that)
Assuming that you're talking about SA/MC/VC, the problem may be because you're trying to squeeze too much juice at once. If you want to run SA/MC/VC just close everything else. Go into task manager, see which programs are taking up considerable resources and exit them (Or kill their process(es)), and if it still gives you too much lag then turn off your Antivirus (A lot safer than overclocking, just don't screw around with random executables).
-
Even if you would, I don't think that you'd get a significant enough performance increases with that PC to warrant trying to OC and shortening the lifetime of that PC, especially if you plan on having it for 4 more years.

in 2 yrs ill be legaly able to work, so ill get a new pc

Go into Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Delete). Then Press start->Snipping tool and take a picture of the task manager. Upload that to imgur or any other photo upload site and post here please.

This chipset is generally considered locked and you probably aren't able to overclock it. My current laptop has this chipset and any attempts to overclock have *appeared* to work, but nothing ever actually happened, it didn't get faster. I suspect there's a safeguard on the chip to prevent us doing this. As far as I'm aware, the E300 is an E450 that failed thermal regulations at the higher clock speed, so it was restricted to slower speeds and called an E300. As such, I would not recommend even attempting to overclock, and I doubt whether you can even do it anyway.
Hope this helps.

You can try changing the process priority in task manager. I have no idea if that will do though.
