Hello,
As far as I know from what I have heard and experienced, illegal advertisements about drugs are allowed for the server rules, but definetely not for the law. Recently, I've seen a few people getting punished for advertising drugs on /ad, and I believe we need a high rank to clarify us whether it is or it isn't allowed.
I was once banned in RS4 for advertising drugs on RS4, but later on, Zaila unbanned me as he said that Cops were supposed to deal with such advertisements.
A proper clarification would really help.
Thanks in advance.

As far as I know, anything that a news paper wont allow can't be usued in /ad.
Advertisement: Selling large amounts of marijuana for $45. Contact or message xxxx. - NOT allowed by server rules.
Advertisement: Selling fresh Mary Jane/Selling dirt cheap left out stock of green tea. Contact or message xxx - Allowed by server rules but will be dealt by law.

EDIT: Read CBFasi's reply below for correct information.

You should put up a demonstration that you want a bigger FBI agency. So they can put up some order in this anarchistic land. :gand:

Rules on this have NOT changed for a very long time.
If you use /ad it must for for what must appear to be a LEGAL advert.
That means NO selling weed by stating that, NO recruitment into well established crime groups.
HOWEVER ...
If you word it right it can appear innocent...
e.g.. (no insults intended)
Corleone Familiy require cleaning staff .. may actually mean ... we need more members to clean the streets of our problems ...
Selling herbal tea ... could mean selling weed ...
Coastguard recruitment drive - no worries anyway, not a known crime group ...
Think.. would a major newspaper print it? would they get in trouble straight out?
SAPD/ARPD however can investigate those apparantly innocent adverts if they believe they maybe hiding the truth ...

Start finding RP ways in contacting people about illegal items ..

When I was in admen team, I remeber Aragorn or Gandalf saying that admins cannot punish players for illegal advertisements and it has to be handled by cops. I'd qoute, but I cannot access admin board to find it.
