Title: File Consolidation
Post by: EenBeeFour on April 11, 2015, 09:07:59 pm
Hey.
I have a whole bunch of hard drives and a single SSD. I use the SSD for maybe 2-3 games at a time and the OS, and the HDD's for either data storage of images, music and videos as well as one dedicated solely to videogames on Steam and Origin, with one hard drive being a backup specifically for the SSD.

Obviously, C: Drive is the SSD and the rest are all HDDs.

My question is, should I consolidate my data onto my hard drives rather than have it spread out onto multiple drives with space on it still? For example, fill each hard drive up and have one that's probably near empty.

If one HDD fails, you would still have the data on the other ones. Personally I would recommend holding very important data on multiple drives (personal files, images, memories). You can set up some kind of a system for the less important ones, such as school stuff on one, music on second etc.
