Dropping IV support
It's a hard decision to make, and we've spent a lot of time considering it.
The reason why we initialy chose to support both IV and V is because we assumed that V would be too high-end for a lot of users. After gathering up benchmarks and testing it ourselves on multiple rigs we can say that GTA V performs better than IV on a lot of systems. This was the biggest reason for us to concider dropping support for GTA IV.
Other than that:
GTA V contains everything IV does and more
GTA V is more stable & performant
Even on low settings it's graphically superior
IV is heavily outdated, we were a little late to the scene to begin with
Developing for IV eats up our time away from working on V
Both games depend on a different architecture
The plan however is to still release one final update for IV since a lot of work has gone into the modifcation since our last release. Causeless will finish this up as an introductory task before moving onto V.

Beginning with developing for IV ending up developing for V. They even told the people there that V wouldn't affect the developing for GTA IV. :(

Making a multiplayer client ain't easy.
Five-MP has already suddenly disappeared after collecting donations (Their site's gone and it seems they haven't tweeted anything since 10 april, which is pretty odd considering the fact that they would normally tweet about them actually starting development).
The fact that MultIV wasn't even able to make a proper stable client for IV after all that time really makes me doubt that they could do it for V, which is even more optimized and builds on IV's codebase to a large degree.
The first GTA V multiplayer won't be made by people who are constantly banging drums shouting that they're gonna make a GTA V multiplayer, it'll be made by those guys that are too busy programming to constantly deal with forums and announcements.

^ This. That's lame after all to see GTA IV without a stable multiplayer client.

I doubt if they will even release an update

Nah.. I don't think they will just throw that into void. Probably its not a big update, but it will at least be something
