I really cant understand why cop cadets have deagles and why they have rights to suspect?? In real life they dont!
Why im doing this topic is beacause this is so annoyng! i always get abused by some cadet with wrong reasons and when i stop to ask why the f' he abused me, then to that time im already dead!! This is so annoyng how i always lose 500 dollars for that too!
I suggest to take away deagle and rights to suspect away from Cadets, only leave nitesticks to them.
And if you want to have gun, then join with ARPD!
I think this would really evade DMings and cop abusings...
-
not a bad idea about the nightsticks...
ARPD = Deagles & cars & nighstick
Cadets = Golf carts & Nightsticks & pistols
That would be badass
-
But, ARPD does take awhile to join... and nitestick only vs. criminal with gun equals... well you know what. Just give them a weak gun like the 9mm.
-
there is a complaint topic on cop abuse. Use it or stop complaining.
-
if cadets would have pistols instead of deagles, they would be even better off, cos pistol is better, you can walk whilst shooting and hit from long distance
-
JJ if cadets were made exactly like real life, people would get bored of being cop cadet, not everything is to be made exactly rl.
You speak of "cadets have deagles and why they have rights to suspect?? In real life they dont!" In real life does it take 10 shots to kill someone? No, so do not say that deagle is a problem because it's unrealistically powerful for the cadet rank, considering the health and realism of the game, deagle is quite suitable.
Lowering the firepower of cadets will not stop "cop command abusing," this just makes it take longer for you to die. Moreover, giving the cadet no gun makes a unfit equality between suspects and cops.
Use the complaint topic for abuse... :)

True.

But surely, having the 9mm is more like having the Micro SMG which so many people were complaining about?
-
i wish SA:MP was more like WoW or singleplayer, where you have to levelup to get better with shooting, and gandalf can build some kind of shooting range where you have to pay to shoot, like for time & stuff.
That way, if you wanna be a better shooter... Visit the shooting range and practice practice.
-
yes nice idea man maybe could have a weapon license that could be only get making a test.
-
If there was a leveling up for weapon, cop should have their own shooting range which is free like IRL.
But of this level up in general, I am not too sure on it, the thing with some people have much higher level and can duel wield for example, i'm not sure I think is good....
-
Yes Ghost, you do not see the value of this.
PlayerA - can only shoot with one pistol.
PlayerA - see's PlayerX Owning with Dual's
PlayerA - is envyous of PlayerX's abilitys
PlayerA - goes to a Shooting range to work on his shooting level.
PlayerA - PlayerA works his XP level up to max stat.
See the determination?
The Need for duals
The sheer power you get with Duals over single guns.
Its just like WoW.
-
Yea I think this could work, but the training is only firing range or can normal playing get xp? for example, say ure a cop who uses the deagle which is just about every cop, each time u get a kill with the deagle, you get xp (like wow, kill=xp ).
Maybe even just for fireing a gun you get xp but if that, make VERY little xp otherwise people just start shooting at the air to get xp.

To take weapons and rights to suspect from cadets...
So what is the use of being a cadet?
Will you be pissed of if you are a cop and cannot even suspect the nearest wanna be wanted rammer?
-
but you can say it in radio and ask real officers to come and check this or even suspect...
-
and by the time that happens the player is gone, btw how are people going to learn how to be a cop if they cant do anything?
-
Exactly... The best cops were trained not in schools but on the streets... :)))

Exactly... The best cops were trained not in schools but on the streets... :)))
like when i was trained by you ron and jubin back in the day :D
-
but you can say it in radio and ask real officers to come and check this or even suspect...
Then officer goes and kills suspect and cadet stays away and gets no money? No one will want to be cadet. Besides, there is virtually never enough officers, several times i see around 5-8 cadets on server and only 1 or 0 officers...What is a cadet going to do the? Call God? God has better things to do then slay petty criminals...
And then armed suspects? Cadets hiding behind patrol car radioing for an armed officer, suspects talk, "Hey, it's just cadets, they are unarmed, just a batton, lets get them!" Cadets then run away from suspects...what kind of image is this? Does this sound realistic?
Also, what kind of training you get here? Learn to rp, radio commands, teamwork...Then you get promoted to officer and get pwnt because you were never trained in combat, myb only with instructing officer, but no "real" training...fighting instructing officer, your not going to get all the fighting skills you need... this is not the way to go...

Actualy, they are cadet/free cop .... When people come and do that, and that they are new on the server, it's usualy for money, so I must agree it can lead to some dming and abusing...
Now, the fact of removing their weapons ... As mentionned in the post just above, it's a bad idea because of all of those criminals who carry weapons.
So then, how to overcome the problem ? Limiting their firepower ? Removing their /su command ? Well Gandalf said in another topic something about how in reality it works when a cop shoot because people were talking about the possibility of using courthouse ... This would be a bit too complex in fact, but then maybe that the court could take care of people who feel abused by the situation (Just like in real life ... you feel abused, then go to court and explain and argue over the facts... ) ... For sure, it would require some permanent judges ...
Another solution could be to bring a weapon license system and a law license system ... Let me explain : A weapon license is delivered to citizen after answer few questions succefuly. With this, they are allowed to buy weapons. If someone dm too much, then, this privilege could be removed. Now the law license : Few questions about the law and rules of argo, then the person can use a free cop skin with the badge, the deagle, the nightstick. If the person abuse his power or dm, then, admins remove the license and the person lose his ''privilege''.
Hope this help to bring a solution to an actual problem.
Best regard

I don't like the idea of the newbie getting owned by an old regular. I think both should have equal skills. The cool thing would be that the winner in a gun fight would be a good player, not the character itself. I hate the idea of skill training.
"PlayerA - is envyous of PlayerX's abilitys"
Making newbies envyous of old regulars isn't very good. And besides, the "ability" doesn't count much on that situation, but the time spent on powerleveling.
The idea works good on SPRPGs/MMORPGs, but IMO not in SA:MP.
"Its just like WoW."
I'm glad this ain't WoW. It's SA:MP.

This problem actually bothered me before and to some extent now, the advantage given to max skill player makes it far easier to kill another, the idea of exp is good but unbalance I'm not too sure of. There is great differences in combat capabilities between different skill levels. For example, you cannot strafe normally with deagle if your on low skill. Such an action is of common use but at min skill you are very limited. This is the only problem I see with the exp idea but I am not sure if it is actually a big issue. I think I would have to see what differences there are at different skills and have a deep thought before I can have a more definitive answer :poke:
-
And anyways, afte few months, everyone will have their skill maxed out or almost ...
-
i dont know why you get your panties up in a bunch about this
first of, speaking as a cop, if the cadets woudnt have the right to suspect and the right guns, crime in the U.S of argonath would raise by 4-fold :war: :sig: :m4: :sig:
the cadets are sometimes the only cops in the ARPD at the moment and there arent enough fully trained officers to do the job.
so the least the ARPD can do is assign more experienced cadets as full cops :cop:
