First of all I don't know if this is the correct board to do this, if it's not feel free to move it.
Now, to get on the point.... Today I got scamed on weed by a player which is one month old and afaik that's still a "new player". I am really surprised how we "old" players are not allowed to scam them but they are allowed to scam us. That's not really that fair to be honest and something should really be done related to that. Will HQ get to a decision to disallow that because I'm not the only one who finds that unfair. It's kinda illogical to let new players do that.
And if someone from HQ helps me to get the weed I lost would be nice cause it was not a small amount of drugs.
-
I also find this illogical, and until today I thought new players scamming others was disallowed and vice versa. It only seems fair to me if both sides are not allowed to scam, when one of them is a new player.
-
Any scam against new players to get their starting money is strictly forbidden.
If an old player does a drug or weapons deal(illegal deals) and loses his money or goods due to insufficient protection, that is not going to be punished. In such way scamming is allowed.
In other hand, if that "new player" scammed you, he's not under "scamming rule" protection anymore, which means that he can get scammed as he's not considered new player anymore.
-
I know that people should be careful when it's about setting up drug deals and such, specially when it's about large ammounts of it. But, is it really fair for other players (defining regulars or veterans whatever you like) to lose something that has took them alot of hours of their day wether if it was on drug farming or trucking to get money to buy narcotics, only because they putted their trust on a new player to set a deal when they could have easily ignore him like some others do?
Yes, it sucks, sometimes we have to deal with it and move on because "life is unfair" and all that. But why can't the regular players get a little support on these things too? Basically the "new players" are immune to everything just because they are supossedly unexperienced. But what if an experienced new player that comes from another server decides to come here and goes around scamming the regulars just because he can? Is that fairness too? It's not about equality, it's about giving the members of this community that have maintained the playerbase in the server the comfort and support they expect to receive for the time they have been around.

In my opinion, that's just plain bs.... That shouldn't be allowed either.... So new guy can just join a group and woho let's scam everyone cause we can.... That shouldn't be allowed

Ye, and he will drug deal with me again... hmh... he won't even reply to me anymore cause he knows I'll scam him...

Although you've been told very clearly to report your misunderstandings to HQ you decided to post this topic.
How I see things; I've never met with an issue like you have encountered recently even if I'm playing here for already five years old. It's quite hard to perceive what are you saying; how a "new player" you're talking about could afford to purchase seven kilograms of drugs? Alright, let's assume he had it. Why you didn't contact a staff member to make sure he has the cash? Maybe things were inversely but I hope you get the point. It doesn't make sense how a newbie could either afford the drugs or to possess them after a short time of playing.
In my opinion it's all your fault.

Maybe you could show me a new player which is dedicated in doing drugs 24/7? If you put your trust in every player especially those which have registered recently it's your own fault, once again. Just because you don't have the right to scam them it shouldn't give you safety that the deal will happen with no issues. It must be your responsibility as a "regular player".

He was a part of a family which I always trusted in drug deals.... How was I supposed to know he would have been a new player and a part of that family...

I would have if there would have been a staff member online....
Just because you don't have the right to scam them it shouldn't give you safety that the deal will happen with no issues.
It should.... Because if I can't scam him he shouldn't be allowed to scam me either...where's the logic in that?

Common sense or not, if we give them the freedom to earn some money and not get scammed, we should be given some perks too. If this is the way we are starting to think then why would people still deal with the newbies, we give them a chance, we don't scam them but when we engage in role-play we always have to be on-guard to be shot to death/scammed/ cried at?
I do agree this should be two-sided, a new player can't be scammed for (the first month?), a full player can't be scammed by the new player for that period of time either. Sounds fair to me IMO.
-
It should be fair from both sides indeed, otherwise everyone will just ignore the players with less then a months /whenmade, none will encounter them
-
Don't set up drug deals with people who you don't know. Easy as that. Build connections, find people through roleplay who you may trust.

That's about it really.
There are alot of ways to protect yourself in those deals. Adding to the things Whiteman said, you could have insisted for cash first no matter what, or divide the amount you need to transfer. (Give him 200 grams then get cash for that, and continue doing like that until the whole amount is transfered. Sure, it takes some time, but you wont end up in this situation)
Btw who was the guy who scammed you?
-
The tag he was wearing made me trust him and that was the reason I gave it all.
I won't say the name of the guy for some reasons.
-
Well you should in my opinion, that's the best way to hit scammers, by telling everyone about them, so they wont be able to do business no more.

And they rulebreak while doing so too.
-
Take screenshots of the whole deal, as I always do. And if they slip up and illegitimately scam you, makes it a hell of a lot easier to report and get the situation fully dealt with. Otherwise you have to have all your eyes open for a possible scam/robbery which is quite common in the drug game.
-
It is moronic that you can't scam players under a month old but they can do it to anyone they please. We shall remedy this and update said rules regarding scamming accordingly once we've come to agreement on the best possible option.
-
Is using /me to scam weed allowed? It's obviously script abuse unless person does "/me gives fake weed to XXX" or something.
Edit: I thought I saw that using /me to scam on this topic but I guess it was on another topic, lol.

Exactly.

And they can also walk away saying fuck off.
