Title: Stalking
Post by: MrTony on August 24, 2015, 08:19:29 pm
I'm gonna keep this short. one of my favorite roleplaying choices is stalking. just stalking. creepily following people and watching them while trying to avoid contact. this seems to piss some people off but as far as i know no rule is being broken and it should be as much of a roleplay option as any. what's the community's view on this and what's the official administration stance on this?

Well I think it can get annoying for the person you're stalking but it should be settled in RP, just as a hostage situation, police chase or any other kind of RP can get ''annoying'' to some people.

Very thin line between annoying and being annoyed, let's not forget that.

Depends what your doing regards to stalking.

If it's more of a roleplay aspect and the person you are stalking and being all creepy to is fine with it then I don't see a issue with it.  You got to respect their own "area" some might not be so welcoming of this type of roleplay due to either real life past experience or such.

If you are doing it to simply annoy, be an asshole or whatever on purpose then it's a no-no.

It's against constitution, not sure what does it have to do with administration though if you don't start ramming and provoking.

Yeah, exactly, it should be a law thing, not an administration thing. In my eyes at least.

But Rusty has a point in that the consequences should be faced by the stalker, too.

exactly, that's my point. stalking should be handled as a roleplaying scenario

i'm just doing it because i love roleplaying a stalker, simple as that. i love watching what other people do and eavesdropping on their private conversations and watching their private lives. i like roleplaying a paparazzi too. i mean if the person tells me they're annoyed, i just try to find a new hidespot but it should all be handled ''rply'' imo.

either real life past experience or such.

edit: i mean i have an excuse that my weed dealer scammed me in real life so from now on nobody in game can scam me on drug trades anymore cos i have trauma. that excuse can pretty much work on everything :/

*sigh*

You respect people's own "area" if they aren't comfortable with your stalking and acting creepy as fuck in-game then you should stop doing it not continue with it.  Because at the point you do continue it you are disrupting them which in turn is breaking the rules and will result in staff intervention.
