The Texas teenager arrested for bringing a homemade clock to school received an invitation to visit the college of his dreams.

At a news conference, Ahmed Mohamed explained the incident to reporters,
" I built the clock to impress my teacher, but when I showed it to her, she thought it was a threat to her. It was really sad that she took the wrong impression from it. "
Last night, MSNBC’s Chris Hayes interviewed the 14-year-old, who was placed in handcuffs when the device he presented to his teacher at MacArthur High School on Monday was mistaken for a bomb.
After being thoroughly questioned at school, the aspiring engineer was taken to a detention center and released to his parents later that day.
Mohamed told Hayes the arrest made him feel like “a terrorist,†a term he remembered being called by students in middle school.
But, the somber interview took an entirely different direction at the arrival of a surprise guest.
MIT astrophysicist Chanda Prescod-Weinstein came on the show to invite Mohamed to visit MIT — reportedly his “dream school.â€

Several major tech companies wasted no time in asking Mohamed to work for them as well.
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, who certainly knows about getting into trouble over innovative endeavors, inquired about a chat.

Twitter got right to the point and offered him an internship.

The CEO of cloud company Box, however, believed he knew where Mohamed’s true interests lie.

Mohamed was also invited to showcase his creation at a prestigious competition.

So, apperantely the guy decided to sue USA for 15 million dollars.
He was apologized for publicly, the US government and even the United States President both have expressed their dissatisfaction with what happened and shown him great support. The guy even got to visit NASA. And after all that this government gives him, he decides to turn around and stab them in the back. What an asshole piece of shit tbh.

I think him and his family knew damn well what the clock looked like, but they didn't care because they knew what would go down and they knew they would be able to profit big time from it, the very fact that everyone is praising him for 'making a clock' is pissing me off, he didn't make a clock, he had a cheap Chinese clock, ripped the wiring and circuitry out of it's original case and then stuck it into a 'briefcase', to be honest if I saw that thing closed up with it's red digital clock face on the front I'd probably assume it was a bomb too, he shouldn't be praised or rewarded, he should be punished for making an imitation bomb, I do love his awkward TV interviews and such though where he talks about things he invents, can blatantly tell he's speaking out of his arse.

Bigger shocker too! His sister was suspended from school 3 years ago for making bomb threats.
