As of RS5.1.12a Rockstars Multi-Factor service is available. This will require a time-based security code in addition to your password to login to SA:MP. IMPORTANT: Please READ everything here and in the service's getting started. I don't want any surprises for people if things aren't done right. This is not a time for TL;DR.
You will need Google Authenticator (or any app which supports TOTP)
Get it from Google Play Store (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.authenticator2&hl=en)
Get it from App Store (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/google-authenticator/id388497605?mt=8)
This service is extremely experimental and may encounter frequent problems which could affect your ability to access the server. We want people to use this to help us find the problems, so we can progress this, but you need to understand and accept the risk.
The service link below will walk you though setting up (note: directions are for Google Auth, if you are using a third-party app please refer to their manual for scanning a barcode). You will need your phone or device you intend on using, it will require an internet connection, and you will need to use it's camera to scan a code.
If you understand how this works and what it is, you can enable it by accessing the link below:

You can disable multi-factor authentication anytime by simply logging in to this service again. You'll be redirected a page that tells you it's already enabled and a link to cancel it. Note: you will need to authentication using multi-factor, so you cannot disable it if you don't have your device.

No, it's entirely optional

If you are having problems with the initial verification this is LIKELY the cause:
What if the code isn't working?
Sometimes your phone's internal clock desync's from Google server. Tap the settings drop-down, select "settings" and tap the option "Time correction for codes". This will re-sync your phone's internal clock with Google's time servers. Rarely, it's possible our server's internal clock is desync'd. Don't worry, our clock will re-sync itself automatically every 10 minutes. So just go get a drink and come back and things should be normal again.

Isn't there any way to stop that text popping up on my screen upon login? Saying that I have not secured my account using multi-factor authentication. It's really annoying.

That was a bug. Was intended for admins only. I have fixed it.

Great feature for extra level of security. Thanks for implementing it.

We have patched an exploit which affected the website only that permitted users to bypass certain security checks. This could not have been used to access accounts, or in anyway compromise your account security or password.
