UPDATED: Sweden's Migration Minister Morgan Johansson has urged refugees in northern Germany to stay put,
after declaring that the Nordic nation is now unable to guarantee beds for all asylum seekers.
The latest figures from Migrationsverket show that 10,201 people applied for asylum in the Nordic nation last week.
Sweden is struggling to provide enough beds for the record number of refugees crossing into the country from Germany
and Denmark, the government confirmed on Thursday.
At a press conference, Migration Minister Morgan Johansson told reporters that there was no longer a guarantee that all
asylum seekers could be offered emergency accommodation.
"We are in in a very dramatic situation, it has become even more dramatic in recent days. Last week we saw a decline,
but now the past few days, we see an increase," he said, referring to the ongoing arrival of refugees fleeing war-torn nations
to seek new lives in Sweden.
"The urgent problem today is that the number of asylum seekers is increasing faster than the number of accommodation
places. Sweden today can no longer guarantee accommodation places," he added.
"Those coming to our borders may well be greeted by the news that we can not arrange accommodation. They may
then decide to either arrange accommodation on their own or go back to Germany or Denmark," he said.
Sweden's Migration Board (Migrationsverket) said earlier on Thursday that more than 2,000 asylum seekers were expected
to try to travel to Sweden from Rostock in northern Germany, which would have meant a new daily record.

Johansson's announcement comes just a day after Prime Minister Stefan Löfven released a written statement calling on
the European Commission to push other member states to do more to help tackle the refugee crisis.
"Sweden has long taken an unreasonably large responsibility in comparison with other countries in the EU, and now we are
in a very tight position. It is time that other countries now take responsibility and therefore the government requests the
redistribution of refugees from Sweden," he said.
Last month the Scandinavian nation doubled its refugee forecast for 2015, with up to 190,000 new arrivals expected on
Swedish soil before the end of the year.
The country's Migration Board has recently sent out a number of appeals to Swedish businesses and residents asking for
volunteers to help provide shelter for the rising numbers of migrants crossing into Sweden as the winter draws in.
Hundreds of asylum seekers are already being put up at the world's most northerly ski resort in Lapland and at a remote holiday
park in west Sweden, while sports halls, theatres and disused schools have also been transformed into temporary homes.
But Anke Erdmann, a Green Party state parliament member for the north German state of Schleswig-Holstein told The Local
that plenty of refugees in the Rostock area were also sleeping on "camping mats in empty market halls" and other disused buildings.
"The problems they've described affect us too, of course I can understand Sweden's problem, but it's the same in Rostock,
Lübeck and Kiel," Erdman said.
Erdmann added that German estimates suggested 1,800 refugees were stuck in northern port city Rostock trying to get tickets
to Sweden, with the Nordic nation only offering tickets to 50 or 60 people each day – down from 150 last week.
Meanwhile, between 600 and 800 people are believed to be waiting to travel to Sweden from Schleswig-Holstein's state capital
Kiel under similar circumstances.

Why is Sweden taking them in the first place? Germany started this, let them handle it.

Sweden have almost doubled the income of immigrants and asylum seekers since last year.
"... with up to 190,000 new arrivals expected on Swedish soil before the end of the year."
I feel very proud that my country continue help people and give them a new home, however Sweden is a small country in disparity of other countries. Sweden tops the list when it comes to intake per capita.

"Under EU law, asylum seekers generally are supposed to apply in the first EU country they enter, but thousands upon thousands are crossing southern and eastern Europe trying to reach more preferred destinations, such as Germany or Sweden, that have a more welcoming stance toward migrants and offer more benefits and job prospects."
"Sweden needs at least 64,000 people to move here each year to be able to finance schools and public health care, according to a new report by the Public Employment Agency, news agency TT reports."
With other means, we are more friendly toward immigration and have more job opportunities since we have one the lowest unemployment rate in Europe.
Update: We lack people and what's better for us than try get more? :D

Since January 2015 we had more then 110,000 arrivals in Italy, most of them via sea. Our Coast Guard and Navy are working 24/7 to patrol the Italian borders to prevent these people die in the sea, since the smugglers once close to the coast leave them to the mercy of the sea. Most of them are coming from all over the Africa and a small part from the Syria.

You might be proud for now, but I don't think that will last, if Sweden is expecting 190,000 more people, just remember, that's up to 190,000 more homes you need, up to 190,000 more jobs, and you need to support that 190,000 with benefits until they do have a job, if they will even bother getting one because your Govt is already giving them everything they need for free, same goes for Germany who is taking in millions of people.

190,000 people who may or may not integrate into Western society, I'll got for 'not' looking at the area they have came from.
This all started because Germany decided to try and look good to the world because for some reason they still think they today need to feel bad over the whole Nazi thing, Germany encouraged thousands to move in because it was 'what is right' and now they are spilling in by the millions, many not even from Syria but are just people looking for a 'free' life in Europe, they are ecenomic migrants, Merkel who is likely on her last term in Germany because of the mess she's caused is now crapping her pants because Germany cannot handle the amounts that came in and are coming in, well that is too bad, honestly, you wanted them in the first place, you keep them and don't expect to dish them out to the rest of Europe.
The UK has taken in 20,000 so far, meanwhile a report rose up about the hundreds of thousands we have homeless or barely able to keep their own homes, all whilst we have a foreign aid budget of 12 billion pounds, our own country is a mess and all we hear is the EU bitching about what a terrible country we are for not taking more in, if it were my choice that 12 billion pound foreign aid budget would be scrapped instantly and put to better use at home, it could go into the NHS and housing our OWN HOMELESS PEOPLE, fix your own countries before you try to fix others, I just hope Sweden doesn't expect any of that foreign aid budget when they realise they can't cope anymore.

We have around 10,000 coming here every week, it's insane

If the management of the new arrivals is successful, the future of the country will be brighter. Nowadays refugees leaving apart the extreme poverty, but new generation is very intelligent, they almost know two or three languages plus good information regarding technology and internet, and what they are living now will be motivation to work and study hard to change their fate and be equal as european citizens. Germany is the most successful country when it comes to immigration logistics. Check their national team(current world champions).

What riddles me is that they only come in huge masses now, while many of these have already been living in a dangerous situation for almost a decade.
Then there's what Loris said, most of the Italian ones come from Africa, the ISIS/middle eastern war situation isn't really an argument for them in any case. They're just trying to profit from the bad situation.
I wonder jf any of the governments and their people actually believe these people will return once the situation becomes peaceful again, if it does at all. It would take decades and before you can even say 'reintegration' they'll have multiplied.

My view is that the one's in Europe's small countries won't need to integrate, since they'll over-run it's native population and completely change the way the country used to look, there's 10,000 so called 'refugees' arriving in Europe everyday from Syria, Iraq, Pakistan and other regions in that area, that 10,000 a day hasn't stopped since Germany started encouraging people to come and I don't see it ever stopping aslong as European countries keep housing and financing them, they are all going to keep coming as economic migrants, as Emmett said, 1,000 a day going into Sweden, Sweden's population is only 9.5million, how many thousands will it take to completely change the face of the country?
-
No problem, Turkey takes all refugees and has the best economy in the world in a couple of years and takes over the world.
-
All countries should help, we all are humans afterall.
-
It doesn't work to just shout "come here ffs" when we can't take care of them. Sweden is the humanity's little bitch atm. Trying to save the whole middle east no matter what it costs.

No, not really. Infact I'd rather put them back on the boat and send them back instead of invading my city/country. If you really want to solve the problem then you should look at the country of origin, the source of all this trouble. Military intervention would probably be the only way.

We're all children of Mother Earth and we should have the right to stay wherever we want, there shouldn't be any imaginary border or area which belongs to a certain group of people only. :weed: :weed: :weed:

People don't want immigrants come into their country because they don't want their environment to change, and don't want their tax money to people who are different. They want the best for themselves.
Immigrants migrate because they want to have a better future, feed their kids or just looking to work less for more money. They want the best for themselves.
Want to try to change human nature? Futile effort, but the best place to start would be yourself. Besides, this is the 21st Century- borders and therefore countries as a concept are becoming less and less meaningful. All countries should help, we all are humans afterall.
Word.

Media likes to twist things around so let's get some facts straight:
1. Most of the refugees are not fleeing from war zones. They are fleeing towards Europe because it's possible to get a better life here.
2. The amount of refugees are increasing because of the Schengen agreement, which pretty much made Europe an open land slot and made it a lot easier to enter each country.
3. Sweden is highest on the list because of the short wait of getting the papers ready and its surrealistic picture they are blindingly throwing around about Sweden being little earth, while in reality, we are facing housing shortage, having incredibly bad integration stats and a lowering school Pisa performance.
4. Most of the refugees entering Sweden are NOT from Syria or Iraq. They are from Afghanistan, where the war is minimal to none. The fun fact about this is that there's more fleeing from Afghanistan now, than it was when the war was actually fully active.
5. If Sweden and the rest of the countries were interested in saving these lives, they would've let them fly or take the train instead of reaching Europe through dangerous and illegal ways. Yet, they are promoting this unrealistic world up North where you can get everything. Cash, houses, food and later on get your relatives and family to Europe, only if you cross through these dangerous ways and make it - then you will get it.
They are promoting the danger themselves to win points in political debates. They know exactly what they are doing and the sad thing is that so many people are actually believing they are doing this for pure good.

I'm not a murderer, sending an entire family back to a fucking warzone. No thanks.

I'm not a murderer, sending an entire family back to a f**cking warzone. No thanks.
A warzone which is mainly kept alive by the very countries who complain about the influx of refugees. The UK and US are big reasons why the war keeps going (they are actually profiteering through supplying weapons to the countries there to ''help'' then in the war against ISIS. UK alone sold weapons worth 12bn pounds in 2013 to Syria and Iraq.) If they really want to help they'd fix the country of origin like Brian said.
-
The funny thing is a lot of people that don't even pay taxes or have paid taxes for years, im ofcourse talking about lazy people without jobs (saying there are no jobs, screw society!). They are the ones wanting to help. Just wanting to help isn't helping. People that pay taxes are in fact helping even if they don't want to help.

Do you really think by sending some of the back will make any difference for now? Hell no. Some of them are innocent and lawful citizens hoping for a better future. Sending them back is simply a murder.

No that's not at all what I'm saying. What I'm saying is for the superpowers to stop the pretentiousness and false sense of caring and actually try to solve the situation in these countries instead of making it worse.

And you think bringing the f**cking war over to my country/Europe is the solution, look at France and you see what happens. As I said, I want to put every single one of them back on the boat. Running away ain't solving your problems.

This was exactly the same case with Libya (?, correct me if I'm wrong) where there was no military intervention due to Russia profitting cause of their arms, the conflict went soon silent after Russia finally pulled out the funding of that particulair war.

Yeah, terrorists be like "Damn, passport check, my only weakness!"
