Hey IV,
Old player needs help! I am stuck at the loading screen (those with the peeps). The problem is I think the commandline. I set it to -availablevidmem 6063.0 -nomemrestrictions -norestrictions.
Tho I think 6063 isn't the correct number, as I may hear from different people. Tho what SHOULD I enter here? I have 2 videocards in my laptop: One Intel with 1792 MB memory, and one AMD Radeon with 6063 MB.
So what should I enter? Some say it is 70, some say it is 7, and somebody else says I should put in my memory.
Any idea?
Greets.

If you dont use the commandline, How much video memory does it show "available" in graphics settings? (With both Intel and AMD)

rip

For -availablevidmem try with 0.7 , if it still does not work try higher values. Also, try to add -norestrictions

0.7 does not work, and what do you mean with higher values?
I already added -norestrictions ;), see my first post :).

Well , i guess i was wrong. Some users on Windows 10 solved this issue by using 70.0 , you can give it a try. I know it may look weird and indeed i still have some doubts on the -availablevidmem , afaik using 2.0 doubles your VRAM memory value (For example 512 mb -> 1024mb), 70.0 is a high value but it works out very well as i see

Make sure that your AMD card get's used when starting IVMP. You do this by going to the intel control center and use the AMD card for 3d applications,

So uncheck 3D?
-
I had a similar issue before and I solved it by uninstalling the intergated graphics driver, by doing so you will insure that the AMD graphics will only be used.
You don't need the intel graphics, it's not like an APU whereas it advantages from dual graphics in crossfire mode.
Try to insure that you have the latest AMD graphics and unistall the intel graphics.
I hope it will work well.Goodluck :)
Another important thing for windows 10:
You have to right click "LAUNCHIVMP" click on properties, go to "Compatibility"
Then run it as compatibility settings for windows 8, and tick the option thay says: Run this program as an administrator.
So uncheck 3D?
If you want to try James method,
You have to not uncheck the 3d settings.
Just change the default graphic to be used as AMD in 3d application.

Just remember than the intel intergated graphics doesn't have a video ram itself. That 1.7gb graphic is obtained from your Ram memory.
If you are familiar on how to use Bios then decrease or the video memory for the intel graphics, because it is using your ram's memory.
-
Btw we're using IV:MP T3 (https://mega.co.nz/#!DIF2lCya!ehs-RAdE5l7j8np2EXVQiQ8ZzF_yANYzRuh0EiNkMUU) :D

Yes Markk is right:
Download the latest patch from Rockstar website.

This client gives me an immediate black screen. Nothing to do about it.

It is an AMD Radeon HD 8730M, 6063 MB

Try these 3 things:
1- Go to power option and set it to "High performance"
2- You told me that you uninstalled intel hd graphics. To check that it is removed go to "Device manager" in control panel.
Locate "Display adapters" and disable or delete intel hd graphics.
3- Insure that you have the latest amd graphic drivers :
Auto detect tool from AMD website:

Power option - High Performance, you are talking about GTA IV? (Via Control Panel)
-
I'm not talking about Gta Iv settings :D
Since you say that you made it to a black screen then, just check that you have it running as admin and compatibility for windows 8/7.

But what do you exactly mean with 'set to high performance'?
-
Since you're using a laptop on the bottom right icons, there is a battery icon, if you click on it you can adjust the brightness or other settings. You will find a power saving option and a recommended settings and there will be an arrow if you click on it, it will expand to show you that there is a high performance setting.

Try to type only these in commandline:
-nomemrestrict
-norestrictions
-availablevidmem 100
-framelimit 0

Still the same, It has to do with the Intel one being disabled. When I turn it on, I get in the IV:MP menu atleast.
-
Try doing this last thing, install amd Raptr
It will tweak games, you might get lucky.

One thing; as soon as I disable my AMD graphic card via Device Manager, it works!
Altho now I can't run on high settings. Any way to fix this problem?
-
With the Intel HD , no, i don't think it's a good idea. You could try with a different commandline, i've seen a few on gtaforums and elsewhere.
-
Try this.
-norestrictions
-nomemrestrict
-percentvidmem 100
-memrestrict 681574400
-memrestrict 629145600
-noprecache
-novblank
-norestrictions
-nomemrestrict
-frameLimit 0
-width 1366
-height 768
-texturequality 2
-renderquality 4
-shadowdensity 1
-viewdistance 29
-detailquality 29
-percentvidmem 100
-availablevidmem 2100

As you can see here GTA IV PC - Complete list of error codes
(http://gtaforums.com/topic/379040-gta-iv-pc-complete-list-of-error-codes/) try reinstalling DirectX and/or install latest video card driver.

Just download the latest version of Direct X, And also install the directX that might have come with GTA IV.

Oh wait! For some reason it is fixed now! I can run GTA IV with both AMD and Intel now. So I guess this is fixed!
I'm back! :)

Not really tho. I just tried without disabling them both and it worked for some reason.
