So, with Windows 10 came the new Microsofts web browser- Microsoft Edge.
To those who say that it's Internet Explorer with a new name - it's not. It was re-written from scratch. And you can actually feel it. It is faster, at times even faster than Chrome, and far more secure.
However, the thing is that I remember I last used it during the technical preview, but didn't like a couple of great flaws it still had, and am deeply disappointed that up till now they still have not been fixed.
Edge is extremely resource hungry. They say Chrome is a resource hog, but Edge.. Jesus. If you open more than three youtube tabs or have a video rendering in the background or something, it starts freezing, lagging and becomes unresponsive.
The second issue is that it sometimes becomes unresponsive out of the blue.
And the third, most annoying one - you can't use Argonath forums with it. The formatting when making a new topic or posting a new reply does not work properly.
So yeah, I'll stick with Chrome for now.

My PC is pretty medium/high-end actually.

Does it support AdBlocker? haha
-
Why don't they all just give up and accept the fact that they will never beat Chrome?
-
Edge compared with Chrome is like 100times faster, but still can't beat him. I've experienced all 3 facts that you stated like cons and I was especially angry when it was not responding out of nowhere, so because of my lap top safety i've turned back to windows7 and will stick to it untill i get a better lap top.

I don't use AdBlocker either way, because I am not a pompous asshole and I wish to give people the benefit that they deserve, especially on Youtube :)

Sorry to break your bubble, but as long as web advertisements are the #1 vector for malware to spread, I run ad-blocking software as a complementary defence against malware.

Good like fighting off the malware with a toothbrush.

It's actually a bit slower, and more RAM Hungry (nearly twice of not more than Chrome).. Used it few weeks ago on W10, then I woke up and re-installed Windows 7.
back to Torch (based on Google Chrome) for now..

A modern browser with no plugin/addon support is not modern at all.
-
The only reason one would use Edge is to download another browser as a last resort..

Just Argo or also other SMF forums?

Never tried other SMF. Though GTAForums.com doesnt work properly either.

Never had AdBlocker, haven't been using an anti-virus since the release of 8.
You have to be computer illiterate to get a virus these days.

Since I saw this topic I decided to try it out again (after downloading the november build yesterday) and it seems that some of what you say may have been fixed.
Edge uses almost the same amount of RAM or less or more when compared to Chrome (same tabs running). (Checked again, youtube consumes ~20% more on Edge (340 MB vs 405 MB) Not a problem for me though, I don't have a potato PC. :D
I have yet to come across any lagging on Edge (even when on the 10240 build, I REALLY had no lagging on Edge ever since I started using it). In the november build, there's still no lagging either.
On the pre november build, it did get unresponsive at times but so far it seems perfectly fine on the november update.
And yeah, I am posting this on Edge, I don't see any problem with the formatting or anything. Works exactly like it should on Chrome.
And the 2012 hating on MS IE is getting really old and boring, Edge is nothing like IE (in this build). It's smooth, has all the features I need (addons/plugins doesn't bother me cause I don't use any). LOOKS simple and good.
MS didn't pay me for this.

I personally like Edge on my HTPC at home. Makes browsing smoother and easier experience.
At work I use Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Internet Explorer the entire day. My personal favorite for PCs is Chrome. Personal favorite for Mac is Safari.
