Try running on Windows 7/XP compatibility.Game starts up now, but it gives the following error once the loading bar is done (Don't have any mods, just a clean install with GTA and SAMP)
Tried downgrading then upgrading graphics? Had the same issue when I got W10 and now it works perfectly! What exactly do you mean, downgrading from W10 to W7?
Restart you PC Again Then after the restart rename the Folder that your gta installed in Like if the folder name is SAMP rename it to samp1
when you rename it open samp it will tell you to locate it do it then you can join the game again
that happend for me just 2 days ago same windows 10
That appears to have worked, do I have to rename the folder every time I restart my computer though?

Do you have multiple monitor setup?
No, remove the graphicsdrivers and then install the latests again
In old Windows versions you needed to disable the Data Encrytion
Protocol.
Another issue was the strong protection of /Program Files, moving the folder to something not residing under Program Files would lower the protection and solve the issue.
I actually did forget about this. And people tell I am old and senile.... ;)
My point is, try to get a better Windows like Windows 10 Pro, Windows 7 ultimate... etc...That will not affect at all. It's the same thing, just different features.
That will not affect at all. It's the same thing, just different features.Probably. But he still can try the other steps.
1. Make sure that you have Framework for-Games last version, and Visual C++ 2005-2013 pack. What is Framework for Games? O_o
3. Update your GPU: I don't think that it would work, but try.We are dealing with a new laptop here, with GTX980M.
What is Framework for Games? O_oLets see if the other steps do work.
And as far as I know, GTA:SA and SA:MP do not require C++ packages. We are dealing with a new laptop here, with GTX980M.
Same issue. I originally tried launching GTA SA on my old tower which just updated to the latest build of Windows 10 (10586) and it kept crashing. I did a clean install on my laptop, also running the latest version of W10 and it was crashing as well. Did all of the common tips and tricks that would normally work, but I have yet to even find a temporary solution.
I've had similar issue after updating to the latest build of Windows 10, I really can't remember how i exactly fixed it, but here's what comes to my mind of the steps I've taken:
1. Uninstall your game and delete everything related in the documents folder.
2. Restart.
3. Reinstall SA and SA:MP in a different folder than the old one, make sure it has a different name.
4. Restart again. (I remember the game not starting, but after this step it just worked)
5. Run as administrator.
*Do not change any of the compatibility settings unless you've ran out of options.
I appreciate the suggestions, however it seems that I am still not able to start a game.
If I launch single player, after the intro video the game stops responding, and in multi-player, after the introduction bit, it crashes to the desktop. I suppose it is a windows related problem, but if anyone else has any suggestions, I am more than willing to attempt them!
This makes me really curious what causes this to happen as I personally never had any issues with SAMP on neither W8 or W10.
It appears as if the above suggestions still have not remediated whatever issue I am experiencing. I reinstalled the game twice as well but to no avail, at least on my laptop. I tried some of the other suggestions up here on my desktop with no success either. I'll have to investigate further on my tower and see what I can do.Contact me via Skype, I will try to help you.
Talked to Brian, apparently SA:MP appears to be working now for him. @MikeSangelo, did you get it fixed?
