Title: [Unbanned]Unban request
Post by: Marcell on January 27, 2016, 10:24:34 pm
Full ingame name: Joseph_Burke
Approximate date of getting banned: few months ago
Reason of getting banned: Planned DM
Further information:
So I went ahead and deathmatched a manager instead of opening up a third 'LEAVIN DIS SERVUR' topic or something. It was pretty much an outburst due to a situation associated with the server's community at that time, and if it needs to be discussed here so be it although I feel like the administration knows the situation well and it's kinda long for me to bring up. It was pretty same as if I had requested a ban on my account, but in zerox mode so instead of asking someone to ban my account I deathmatched an admin, if anyone gets the reference.
Needless to say now that I feel like the situation that pushed me towards what I did is explained, I feel like involving myself within the community again. And I of course, regret the whole rulebreak situation.

I DMed a manager out of boredom lol
What you did is beyond stupid. You show no remorse for your actions by laughing about it, which self-contradicts your statement about regretting the situation.
Your actions tell me you have no respect for the rules or the administration. So tell me why I should unban you?

I feel like involving myself within the community again.
That's strange, you had a very different opinion earlier on. So what's changed?

It's not that I show no remorse, the reason why I did what I did is because I felt like some of the regulars were backstabbed by the administration at that time, I didn't want to be part of such community so I went out with a dumb bang instead of just leaving by not playing anymore. Now that I know how the situation really was I do think what I did was stupid.
Yes I had a different opinion but now that I've seen lots of people giving it a try again, whereas earlier they acted just like me (just without dming manager part) and left, I realized I could too.
Like I said despite that I do regret my actions, I might not seem treating it as serious as it is simply because I think rulebreaks that hurt the players/community are way worse, like say deathmatching random people for whole day. I know Kessu and he probably just laughed at my rage while the rulebreak happened, and was happy in assisting to ban me on  practically a request. I'd be more regretful about this if some things that made me do it wouldn't take place, but that is really my personal thing that doesn't need to be discussed here.

Worst thing about the whole situation was not that you actually DM'd me, I saw it coming long before, storing my weapons inside the house so I don't lose anything, but the fact that your reasoning of doing said action was pathetic at best.

Also please do elaborate more on why you think that administrators betrayed some regulars when we are trying to make sure no such thing happens?

The fact that you all pulled off total Merkel on some of us, trusting a newbie better than regulars, regarding the whole johnny drama. Talking shit will be always part of social relations between males and you try telling me some report gets investigated more than any of the things on the server I've ever seen reported? Not to mention there was never a 'hey guyz pls stop being mean' from the 'victim', thus the fact he ninja reported his friends shows he is/was a plain witchhunter. I'd understand if it was bullying of some sort, but you don't just go around reporting people stirring bullshit up just cause you lost an argument. That was first thing that made me feel betrayed. A reminder to Klaus:
<in regards of johnny leaving>
Brad G: That's a real shame, seeing how much the administration tried to help you
Brad G: Seems all our efforts were a waste
Brad G: Maybe it was you all along causing the issues
Brad G: Who knows.

Second, I always knew there is alot more leniency towards newbies, this is a fact because of our player count that needs to grow. But the fact that I've REPEATEDLY have seen bullshit like, two players registering who had predispositions to become regulars being banned for 'deathmatching' (I know by who but I won't mention it here) cause they were defending themselves against typical meatbags who can't even write on chat. They got tempbanned for days, the tards who were dm'ing them were kept on the server, and anytime I've seen them rulebreak all they got was a kick, for like what? 2 weeks? keeping players who can't even use english over people who were potential players? and this happened the whole time regarding some admin(s), and nothing can be done about it because it's the admin's decision when it comes to  rulebreaks. I even understood back when we KICKED cheaters instead of banning them on 0.3, but to me keeping around rulebreakers for 2 weeks who have contributed nothing but deathmatching to the server is too much.

This was what made me stop playing, I felt like I experienced the server's downfall. It might have not been the case for anyone else but it was for me. Now that I had like 5 months to think this through, I think I got rid of the negativity and I'd ignore what seems fucked up to me because it's not my server, it's your server, your vision - wanna keep rulebreakers over regulars then I'll adapt, no reason to complain about something that can't be changed. I'd be just a guest again, without pulling off any shit I did earlier.

A reminder to Klaus:
What you were doing went beyond "talking shit" and was borderline racist. It went way too personal even involving malicious video/voice chats. The administration throughly investigated the situation to find out who really was "stirring bullshit up" and we came to a decisive conclusion it was not Johnny but in fact a small group of players who seemed to have sort personal grudge on him. Even after bans were put in place I heard this stretched to other Argonath servers as well.

In reference to the skype log, I was quite disappointed with Johnny's reaction to quit playing suddenly after how much effort we did to help stop the bullying. Nonetheless, he has his own reasoning for this.

I was never involved in any of those audio / video conversations; given that I never even had a (working) microphone until very recently. My problem wasn't with johnny himself, my problem is oversensitive people. If every case of the 'verbal abuse' as you probably call it was handled the same way that johnny's problem was handled - half of the server would be banned sooner or later. If he was totally passive when it came to this, I would have never degraded myself to coming onto another server just to deathmatch him, my problem was that he made a total saint out of himself in this whole case, the banter that he's so 'hurt' about wasn't one-sided, he spoke bullshit too - so this is my issue, he wasn't 'the poor guy who gets admins to defend him from bullies' he's the 'oh I don't like them so I'll try getting them banned : ) ' guy. I know this for a fact from several SAMPers who know him way better than I ever did. Now, does that make anything I've done right? no, but you wanted the motive behind my actions, so there you go. 'Borderline racist' why is it that when he talked shit about slav countries then it's fine but somehow when someone criticizes him then it's racist and he runs to report it? what is this, an internet community or European Union simulator? This shit happens all the time on the main chat of both SAMP and VCMP servers and then all that happens is some people get mutes, hence why I fail to see why this was totally blown out of proportions.

I'll write 'still interested' even if it was just 2 days just to be sure cause I seen ppl getting denied for not mentioning it after 3 days lol.

In this board, you do not need to write "Still interested" we will not forget.

If we let the unban request be still for months, we will poke first before denying.
