Simple question.
To everyone that play's on the SA:MP server, what does it take for you to kill another player in-game? Are you someone who would kill someone if they seen a friend get gunned down by a rival faction? Or are you someone who would kill another player for petty insults such as - Go fuck yourself.
Feel free to explain your reasoning behind why you would kill someone, this is something so we can get general idea of what player's would consider a completely valid reason.
I'll start off -
If someone from my faction was being shot at I'd gun the motherfucker down in a heartbeat (if I was witnessing it). You can't come shooting up one of my own and expect me to stand and watch.
-
I would kill if;
- You attack anyone affiliated with me but with reliable sources (TS, Fraps, F8?)
- I am attacked (self explanatory)
- If I know I'm being tailed (Cops chasing me or if I'm a random target for criminal groups)
- Paid to kill (hitman)
- No /admins online
I would torture/kidnap/beat the shit out of you if
- You verbally insult me and people I am affiliated with
- Damage my personal property (Houses, vehicles)
- Enter my property and/or surrounding area without my consent
- Paid to do so
- You disrespect my origins/ethnicity/lifestyle etc
Of course I would try and roleplay my way to the player's tragic death but that should be it tbh
-
As a law enforcer, I would shoot another player or in my situation, a suspect, if they discharged their [lethal] weapons on myself, civilians, my fellow comrades on the field. Trying to reason with the person is usually the first step though, unless things happen way too quickly to type in role play material.
-
As a law enforcer apart from obvious situations
Anyone who is resisting arrest and moderate non lethal force has been used, if they are punching officers and i have a clean shot. I don't care about no spray for someone who is able to kill my colleague with punching which is possible. He gets capped.
If roleplaying a smartly dressed thug as I do (Criminal);
I would knife a fucker to death if he insulted me, didn't answer me or showed me any sort of disrespect.
If they had any sort of weapon in their hand and I judged them to be a threat.
If I think they're going to snitch on me or ruin my plans.
Are unfamiliar to me and seem to know something about me and refusing to give me answers or generally acting weird.
Where possible, I prefer dispatching people through no usage of weapons (throwing them out of a helicopter or drugging them).
I have killed like hundreds of people this way.

People die in the streets and in many circumstances over many little things.

I definitely try to kill anyone who kills a fellow group member if I've seen it with my own eyes or a living group member has lived to speak about it.
If an enemy randomly decides to confront us in our own territory then they are most of the time getting shot at (if they don't leave ASAP).
If a group of people (you know who you are) decides to constantly and persistently attack myself when I'm alone (and other group members) because they are an enemy, then I'm going to fight to my death and take as many of them with me as I can, because that bullshit gets old fast.
If I get caught committing a crime (on camera without a mask) by someone who could take me to court (FBI for example), either they or myself are going to end up dead, then nobody gets sued, I dislike the recent uprising of court cases sueing anyone over anything and everything just because it was caught on camera, but it is fair if you ask me.
And linked to the above one, if a group member joins in something we're doing without a mask on and it turns out he has been seen or recorded by someone who could interrogate or sue him, that person, even though he/she is a group member, is being killed.
I certainly don't like to see people being killed just because they threw an insult or some similar thing, that's just DM.
-
Depends on a lot of things. Today i killed pretty much innocent person cos that person was at the wrong place in the wrong time (while one of GSF leaders was bleeding and i was trying to get help). In past ive shot and even killed members of my own group for disrespecting me personally. Homies on 'trial period' (players trying to earn the tag) breaking gang rules at first get 'lessons' if that does not work, they oftenly get killed.
-
Cops conducting a traffic stop on an openly accessible parking lot linked to an owned building definitely isn't a reason for me to kill them. Others probably differ but whatever. No big deal right?
-
Chase we both know it wasn't a traffic stop.
Violating private property, and constantly ignoring dozen and dozen of warnings for 20 minutes, warning shots in the air, and acting stubborn, while all you had to do is move 20m away, will get you kill, doesn't matter are you a cop or a civilian.
As for the reasons to kill, I would add potential witness that may be used in a court against you.
As for insults, it depends on various things; who are you insulting( It ain't the same are you insulting a criminal Boss or a Taxi driver who over charged you), where are you insulting(Ain't the same are you insulting a Corleone guy at CMHQ, or somewhere random), and what is your history with that person(Are you an enemy for a while, so your insulting is actually an attempt to humiliate the opposition side.)
-
I blast the fucks who don't RP. If you are going to just run, I'm going to kill you.
I kill those who attack my friends, even if I'm somehow not involved to the scenario, I won't let anyone shoot my friend when I'm there and go away with it.
As for insults, depends on location, who it was, what he said. But I will kill you if you ram my car and then start insulting me about it.

Most reasons some of you put I'd do myself with exception to Stivi's first one, rather just report them and either let admin handle or move on and know for future that they aren't worth the time.
-
he ate my cookies jk
Niggas who harvest my weed and don't speak up or pay back, and those who use GS9 casino and don't pay tax.

It's a one-time interaction, and even though poor, it's still a valid argument when reason an admin. Most of the time they run to save their stuff, so better make sure they lose them.

I can relate to that.
Well, I'd rather murder someone for lets say.. Assaulting me? Thats a fair reason.

From the perspective of law enforcement, peace officers may neutralize any person who places one's life at deadly risk.
Indirect deaths may result due to vehicle explosions if a suspect's vehicle is being shot at.

Stick to being a cop thx
thats me being a cop :balance:
-
Become a rat to us, we'll become a cat to you.
-
Apart from the reasonabe stuff mentioned above I'd add for someone clearly stalling or killing time for thier "Help" weather it be cops or allies to get to the situation.
If someone can be a potential witness to a crime, I'm sorry even if you weren't directly involved Im sorry but you have to die.
-
Actually prefer to not use weapons, not much of a criminal or cop. My reasons would be for any threats to my main source of income (growing weed). Civilians/Criminals are fair game (PD not really) especially if they steal my harvest (I try to run between 3-4 spots at a time, so sometimes unguarded) or attempt to scam me in a deal. This of course extends through my circle of friends. Additionally, if I find myself in a situation with a hacker and no admins are available, you can bet I'll do what I can to draw a hacker's attention away from other players.
-
I'm interested to see why cops would kill.

I'm interested to see why cops would kill.
It is very unfortunate and I stopped playing because of it but earlier I killed an innocent civilian who I thought was a suspect that had just killed an officer in the local vicinity.
Same character skin, similar name length. Didn't want to stop when a cop was beating him / spraying him, got to a bike as a driver.
I guess we can add cases of mistaken identity to the list?
-
As a cop reasons I would kill another player:
- I have been directly shot at by the other player (Not in DM but as general shootout).
- The player (criminal) is shooting at other players (civilians) (Attempted murder).
- A civilian/officer has been killed by a player and the player is hostile approaching (gun drawn).

Killing in a roleplay game is a complicated thing, seeing as killing in real life is a TOTALLY different story. Killing in a game confers none of the consequences or the mental burden that killing in real life would.
The character that I play 9 out of 10 times is a sociopath of sorts with deviant criminal tendencies who was born in blood, and has little remorse for his actions. Despite this, I can't go around simply killing people for the hell of it because my character is a psycho as this would be against the rules, and not to mention, bland. So I try to play him inspired by the main character from Dexter, if you are familiar with it. Leon must find ways to satiate his tendencies, all the while fitting in with society, avoiding getting caught - to 'survive.'
So with that being said, for the most part my kills tend to be with regard to rivalries between criminal groups. As you may know many in criminal groups tend to kill one another for petty reasons. I try to avoid this and encourage more well thought out reasoning behind going after a rival. If you are a rival and you hassled one of my brothers, you can bet your ass that I/he would feel no regret in cutting you to pieces, or simply sending you to the afterlife with a .50 to the brain. I and the character are above killing for petty insults. If the murder in question is for more questionable reasons, I try to take it up with an admin or the victim to make sure there are no qualms in the end. After all, it's all supposed to be for fun, right?
To sum it up, I tend to pay no mind petty insults that tend to have reasonings based outside of roleplay. Wronging someone I give a shit or getting in my way about is an entirely different story.
