1. When a player registers for the first time, he should see a menu from which he can select his national language. All Argonath messages(script's) will be shown to the player in the language which THEY chose.
2. Also, register and login messages should be shown using the menu's in the center of the screen. The text goes up too fast in the text area.
3. Using only English as a rule in the public chat should be removed. Like in real life, not everyone knows English. We are a community and community can have Spanish/Urdu players.
4. Spanish, Urdu speaking gangs can add a flavor to the server. This will also open a RP job for translators who understand more than one language.

This is international server, so you know which language is international, and you can speak spanish or whatever you want with people who know that language, but if you wanna make rp scene with me and I don't know spanish, how can we do that rp?
So in public chat I think must be English language!
I don't know perfect English but I can understand much from same, but from Spanish only one thing that I know is "Te amo guapa" xD :balance:
My opinion.

This is an international server.. Simple as that.. I Don't support this idea.

RP scene where people don't understand "one" language is still a RP scene. What will you do when you go as a tourist in Spain and encounter a Spanish farmer who doesn't understand English? They are not /kicking you out of Spain. You will just try to point out that you don't understand Spanish and walk away!
We should all learn to be tolerant and sell what sells! Can't we ignore stuff on chat that we don't understand? These guys who don't understand English are doing it for such a long time.

If i go as a tourist in Spain and don't understand Spanish, and can't speak with that farmer, I will show him with my arms what I want to buy or whatever, but in game how can I show you with my arms what to do ?
Like said Jay, same here I don't support this idea.

I don't support this idea. I still feel "English in the main chat" should remain a rule.
To add multi-lingual support to the script will take tons of work since there are possibly hundreds of messages and will just delay the release of any new features since it has to go through translation.
Not to forget that we will then need moderators and admins who could speak in the players native language to communicate with those who don't understand English. I know we do have players who can help out but how often are they in the server to begin with?
-
Server is and will stay primarily as english talking server.
People can talk their own language outside of public chat and emergency radios.

No.

No need for everything being translated, but I think at least the rules need a translation. We had this on old scripts if I remember right (Stormeus did spanish translations) and nobody complained about it. As of now I think there's not even /rules command lmao
-
What we're not going to do is change the rules. Therefore, players who cannot speak a word of English are not worth catering for as they won't be able to efficiently communicate with other players and the administration.
About rules being translated.. it could be done but I really see no point in it. If scripters want to do it then sure.

If I did translations, it was probably for commands like rules and no deathmatching since 9 out of 10 times someone is breaking the rules because they don't understand them. Anything beyond that is unnecessary.

It was for rules and for registering. That's enough IMO. I've been getting minor successes by using google translator to translate the rules into spanish and had newbies play, roam around without DMing (well usually....). Sure you can be selfish and say they're useless if they can't speak proper english in the long term, but many activities don't require proper english, just like in real life where immigrants get jobs as janitors/taxi drivers/ etc
