Title: Fluctuating volume levels
Post by: Alsatian on April 03, 2016, 02:32:00 pm
Hi guys,

I'm having a bit of an issue with my sound system as of late. In all honesty I've had this problem for quite a while now but it's never really bothered me until now. Whenever I play music through my speaker setup (or any kind of audio for that matter) the volume fluctuates every 10-15 seconds or so. It's not drastic by any means, but it's becoming increasingly annoying, especially when I'm listening to a song and it randomly spikes up or down in volume.

I've looked at all the wiring and speaker hardware, and can't pinpoint anything - for example, none of the control knobs on the bass unit have any sort of pressure being applied on them by any other wires.

Does anyone have any sort of idea what the problem could be? The hardware itself is quite old now but is of fine quality and has been kept in good condition.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. :)

Not sure what you're using but if it's being powered by an amplifier, it could be a sign of dying capacitors in the poweramp section.
